My missus is a big celtic fan

ah! :( Progress deep into the Europa is vital for Ronny Delia otherwise the fans may turn because lets be honest their isnt much competition in the SPL with Rangers, Hibs and Hearts in the 2nd division.

It's going to be really interesting to see how Spurs and Man Utd pan out as the two 'potential top 5' teams with new managers, it could go either way for both. More of the same from Chelsea/Arsenal/Man City. Liverpool are kidding themselves if they think they'll finish in the top 4 again, Suarez was to Liverpool what Bale was to Spurs the season before. Southampton are surely just going to crash out with so much change.

Should be a good'un :)

That's just looks like the sort of comment that come May we'll all be laughing at. Lol. Hopefully cos Pool have stayed in the top four, and not cos you thought Spuds would be pushing for CL.

As for Celtic, that is their season over. Even if they win the Europa League, which they won't, the money is nothing compared to what they would have got even if they had lost all 6 CL group games. Agreed the SPL is a farce.

Not at all mate, like Pete I have no faith in Spurs achieving anything  But Liverpool were a one-man side last season, and they've lost that man.

I'm sorry, but if Spurs don't buy a striker they have no ****ing chance. Top 6 would be unlikely let alone top 4. What are they thinking?? Giant steps backwards the last 2 seasons. Sickening. We have a good midfield. Next to nothing up front. and a very so so defence and if Vertonghan leaves; a **** defence. And a great keeper if Lloris stays. I see hard times ahead.

Totally agree Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City will be big favourites for top 3. Arsenal and Chelsea are both still very light on strikers which could once again cost them. City have Aguero, Dzeko, Negredo and Jovetic who looks like he's gonna be a big player for them this season. I still make them favourites.
Which leaves Liverpool, Man Utd, Everton & Spurs fighting for 4th. Everton having secured Lukaku and somehow managed to keep Baines and Coleman could be a threat once again. Liverpool have lost one of the bed players in the world and made a couple of ok signing but nothing special. Who would you rather have, Llalana or Sanchez??

I read somewhere if Celtic lost in champions league that Fraser Forster would be going Southampton for £8 mil

I have heard that too. Expected to be confirmed in the next 48 hours :)

Be good to have a look at him in the prem at a better standard thn the SPL on a regular basis

Yes and a good performance would also enhance his chances of more appearances at International level

Yeah, he suffered majorly last year cos uncle woy is clearly of the opinion that the SPL isn't a proper league. I'd tend to agree with him, for once.

I still think Liverpool will do better than Edd and Pete seem to think. BUT a lot will depend on who all the top sides sign in the next few weeks. Rumours (that i don't believe for a second) of Falcao to Pool. If that were true or, if spuds sign a striker etc, then the whole outlook changes.

One thing is for certain, Utd's title bid took a massive blow with Howard Webb retiring! Lol

I never said they would struggle or anything. As i said, they will be fighting for 4th and i think they could be favourites. But top 3. Hmm, i just can't see it. Anything can happen but i can't see any logic for saying they have a better chance than Chelsea, Arsenal or City who clearly have better squads. By a way.
As you say; late signings from Pool or Spurs could change everything but i have to base my opinions on the squads the teams have right now.
If i were a Liverpool fan i would not be happy with no BIG signing after all the money they got from Suarez. And my thought on Spurs transfers have already been voiced.

Cant argue about chelsea and city having better squads. Arsenal's i'm not so sure on. Sanchez is another attacking light weight midfielder/forward. That's not what they need. They need a ball winner and probably another striker. If Sanchez plays as a striker that does solve that problem, but i'm not sure he's a natural striker, more a wide forward who likes to cut in. But then so was Henry and he did ok. they still need a ball winner mind.

I think Pool have strengthen the squad well from last season. Still need a striker no arguments, but given we had 14 players to chose from last year, we actually have a squad and a bit of competition for places.

City and chelsea will finish top four comfortably. The other two places will be between Arse, Scum, and Pool. With Spuds included if they sign a striker. Everton i could see coming 5th or 6th but not sure i can see them finishing 4th over the course of a season

Don't completely disagree with your points but Arsenal have a much better defence than Liverpool. Liverpool's defence last season was a big problem a problem solved by getting **** loads of goals so it didm't matter.
Arsenal, while i agree have too many fancy players and not enough holding players and ball winners, still, for my money, have a better midfield than liverpool - Ozil, Sanchez, Ramsey, Walcot, Cazorla, Wilshire, The Ox vs Gerard, Llana and Stewrling. Can't think of any other good ones.
Up front Liverpool edge it. Basically because both teams have a striker each. So it's Giroud vs Sturridge. Sturridge is better.
So that's why i put Arsenal above Liverpool this season.

Yeah as Pete says I don't think Liverpool will get relegated or anything, but without Suarez and following England's performance, do you really think they still have a world class team? They will probably finish about where Saints did last season seeing as it's basically the same team  And again as above, if you actually watched any of Liverpool's games last year rather than just looking at the points, they were f***king lucky to get top 5 IMO, they nearly lost quite a few times were it not for their saviour!

And let's not forget, ALL teams in the top 5 were thrown a bone by David Moyes last season, a year without Man Utd in the top 3 is a real rarity.
