Premier League 2012/13 Discussion Thread

Haven't seen it, but heard it was a ricochet off his body onto his hand and not intentional. He just put the ball in the net (as all good strikers should) and waited to see what the officials would do.
A shame that it appears to have decided the game, i wouldn't begrudge Mansfield a replay at Anfield.

Saw it and can't really blame him. What was he supposed to do, stop 2 yards away from an open goal because he nudged it with his hand? Nowhere near like thierry's v Ireland.

TBF. if he hadn't used his hand and it had hit him..........he could have been killed!

Cant see Real wanting him. He's not THAT good, definitely not 45 million good. Technically he's not worth that much, most English players are technically pretty poor. Plus he won't exactly sell buck loads of shirts a la Ronaldo, he doesn't have the looks/flair of Ronaldo and his penchant for ****ing whores doesn't help.
Plus do Real need another striker?

Dafter things have happened!

Liverpool paid 35 million for Carroll, Utd keep signing wide midfielders rather than a holding midfielder Arsenal keep letting players run down their contracts and Chelsea keep sacking managers.

Looking like a Swansea-Bradford final isn't out of the question - both deserved their wins

Really Hoping to see a Swansea Villa Final 8)

Villa desperately need something postive although if they win I dont they would stand a chjance in Europe

Swansea have never won a major trophy and would make a better fist of Europe IMO :) although i will watch the final regardless of whos in it

Would be nice to see someone other than Roman's bunch of over paid c*nts playing in the final. Someone for whom it would actually mean something.

Some big games today. Don't know why the media are making a big thing of Fergie's comments regarding not looking at Liverpool's results first. Of course he doesn't! Man city then Chelsea, then probably 2 or 3 teams next. Bloody obvious that until Liverpool start challenging the club is not as important to him.
Does rafa look at Redknapps first

And personally i think there should be. Enough is enough with the pulling in the box. Time to start sending players off for it and it'll soon stop. Good decision.

I agree but that needs to be made clear before August not because the media focus on it during the season. Penalty yes. Yellow yes. Red no. Wasn't a clear goal scoring opp for me.

Well it doesn't tend to happen when it's the last defender fouling the striker about to have a shot. By the rules of the game it's a sending off. Plain and simple. Had the keeper done that he'd have gone wouldn't he??

Have to say, I am with Pete - he was the last man so it was a Red Card. Cruel but correct by the letter of the law

Good goal that
