Spurs dangerously close to cementing their status as a mid-table team today, absolutely pathetic. Diabolical defending on the two or three occasions in the entire game the ball went in their own half, sloppy passes, and of course Danny Rose proving himself to be a complete moron yet again - how is he back in the starting line up after the great job Davies has done the last two games? And all against ten men to boot. Really didn't deserve to win, I actually feel sorry for Watford.

Isn't that what the good teams do - win whilst being ****. I can see Spurs being in the running this year. They are probably the most consistent in the top 6. Winning the games you should be winning may be all it takes to be champions this year.

True, but Spurs are very similar to Arsenal in that they often beat the likes of City, Chelsea and each other, but consistently struggle against teams they should beat - Southampton and Newcastle in recent weeks.

Totally disagree on that Ed - it's only this season and last that Wenger has finally conceded that a defensive game may be needed against the big boys. On the flip side the Southampton result on Saturday is now all too common

Top 4 was always based on getting results against those teams Arsenal should've beaten rather than a good result against City.

Well the results speak for themselves, as you can see 6 surprise results from their last 14 matches. That's not the record of a consistent team, it's all over the place just like Spurs.

Just watched MOTD, I must say from the highlights at least Utd were very unlucky not to beat Chelsea today, could have scored a few. More promising.

Compare Arsenal's record above to Leicester, only three surprise results. This is the form of a title winning team. You can afford to lose a few games a season, and of course there will be a few surprise results and draws, but the losses need to be against teams like Arsenal and Liverpool, not Southampton and West Brom.

I said Arsenal have too many Southampton results to be consistent but now do beat the big boys - whilst Spurs seem fairly consistent and as such are in with a shout (much like Leicester). From an outsiders pointed view Spurs seem to beat who they should beat.

Much likenArsenal of recent years they only had a few losses against the minnows but couldn't beat the big boys. The end result is much the same, top four with no chance of winning the league unless Chelsea and Man City have absolute shockers.

Haha no I did get your point, I just think Spurs are the same. This season they've beaten City and Leicester, and drawn with Arsenal and Chelsea. So that's either wins or draws with the top 4 (or in Chelsea's case, should be in the top 4.) On the other hand they've lost to Newcastle and drawn with Swansea, West Brom, Stoke and Everton, which in my eyes is 11 points dropped by a team that can compete with the big boys. So not so dissimilar from Arsenal

Was expecting a draw between Leicester and City last night, but I'm starting to think Leicester could actually pull this off. It's not like they're in the top four because they've had an easy run of games, a draw with most people's favourite will surely have to make people take them seriously.

Nothing going for us at the moment, hope things turn soon, I still think the Van Gaal sacking talke is nonsense. If he got sacked now your basically saying to any future Man Utd manager if you loose 4 straight games your out, how can anyone run a team under that preassure?

I agree, it's ridiculous. You can't just decide to win the league, even with unlimited resources it takes time.

In stark contrast to the Watford match, Spurs were brilliant today but didn't get the points. As is football. Not sure how Harry Kane managed to hit the post only for it to cross the goal mouth and then go out for a goal kick, that seems to defy physics :lol:

I think this could be the start of Leicester's slippery slope, they've been brilliant up to now and are safe this season, but I think everyone knew their run wasn't going to last.

So it looks like City Vs Arsenal for the title, and then anything could happen with 3rd-4th.

Spurs looked great against Everton. Totally the better side, they deserved to win that.
Good to see Liverpool are still ****. Benteke has done a couple of superb impersonations of Ballotelli. Were it not for the fact Benteke is built like a brick **** house, occasionally moves/runs and can head a ball, I'd swear they were the same player.

Is there another club in the PL with such a hit and miss record when it comes to buying strikers, as Liverpool?
Torres (for 18 months or so), Suarez and Sturridge (when fit, doesn't happen often, granted), all absolutely superb strikers. I don't want to say "world class" but the calibre of player CL sides look at and think 'wish we had him'. Then you get Andy Carroll, Ballotelli, Diouf, and Benteke, all absolute wastes of money.

I'm not including the likes of Titi Camara, Sean Dundee, Andrei Voronin, Karl-Heinze Riedle etc as they were never bought as first choice strikers, nor did they cost the large transfer fees the others did. Though they were all shite.

Agree, I'd say Torres and Suarez at their peak with Liverpool were about as good as it gets. Even on a par with Bale at Spurs

I would have taken the draw so no complaints from me. Liverpool also hit the woodwork twice so we got the luck you need to win titles. City dropped points.

I honestly don't think the title "belongs" to anybody this season, it's a completely open race for the first time in a decade. Chelsea dropping off the face of the earth and City dropping all these points are doing Arsenal and Leicester huge favours, there's a good reason those two teams are top of the table and it's not supreme dominance.

Spurs weren't good enough last night, it was a pretty even game but not surprised we lost. The FA Cap game on Sunday on the other hand was a joke, Spurs were robbed. I was there and the highlights didn't portray that Leicester only touched the ball about 3 times (scoring on two of those occasions) or that Schmeichal got booked for continuous time wasting. I really hope Spurs invest in good left and right backs this window, Rose and Walker are just not good enough.
