Does anyone here pay for photobucket? And if so does removing the adverts speed the site up?

Cheers,

Carl

I'm too am getting ****ed off with photobucket and the dodgy adverts. Certainly not going to pay them to stop ****ing us around.

Will probably switch to flicker very soon unless someone can recommend an alternative.

Must admit I use PB and have done since 2007 but I agree the site is slow as **** and is a real pain in the arse majority of the time ....

All the photos I've been putting up in the Modern section are hosted on PB and at times it's taken me over an hour just to put up about 10-15 photos on a thread

I thought it was my laptop just running slow but you guys are having the same problem .....

Agree with the ads though they are a pain in the arse and no I don't pay for ad removal

I don't upload tons but have a very photo heavy guide which is on there so happy to use something else but thought a dollar a month might be worth it

It used to be decent but is properly rubbish now. I thought it was just my knackered laptop, but its just slow.

I have the same issues but the mobile version works much better and faster - but a bit more fiddly if you are copying lots of links

Yep even with adblock the site is slow and a real pain to use now. They have also employed tactics to get round adblock as well, well I wouldn't be running adblock if your site didn't have intrusive and annoying adverts. I think its time to move.

I don't know if it helps Carl (or anyone else) but I have a gallery section with unlimited storage on my forum that you are more than welcome to use if you are fed up with photobucket: http://forum.trilogo.info/gallery/index.php

Obviously, you would have to login there, upload pics and copy the urls over to here but I guess if you are already doing that with photobucket it's not the end of the world?

Thanks Joe...I'm somewhat ashamed to say I have logged in to the forum today for what must be the first time in months

It's ok mate, I gave up on the Trilogo forum a while back! I don't go there that often myself these days so you shouldn't feel bad about not visiting it!

If the gallery thing helps/works then go for it, just an idea!

Well I've just given up on Photobucket and deleted my account, even doing that is a slow and painful process. It will mean I lose all my linked pictures but heyho. Lets see if Flickr is any better.

One workaround for photos is to upload them to Facebook and then copy the image address from there and paste to your thread on here as you would with photobucket :D
