Pete Gowdy's "Euro 2012" Predictions League

Yeah well it's been going for nearly 7 years and new rules have come in each year as we've encountered issues. Lots of tweaking has gone on over the years to get it just right. You have to cover every eventuality otherwise there could be quarrels. Especially when money's involved. Plus i am basically autistic when it comes to these sorts of things so it doesn't confuse me even a little bit. Just no one else in the league knows what the **** is going on.
This time round we added the star-man which we don't usually have in a normal season. I just thought it would be a fun thing to try for this rather short tournament especially with extra-time not counting for your picks when it comes to the knock-out stages. When i came up with the idea a few people thought it might not work and i almost didn't do it but so far i think it's working a treat. 8)

Ehhh bingo, you rumbled me!
Although surely my **** guesses gave that away? Lol
Don't worry, I trust you, not that it's gonna matter given how pish I've been so far! Lol

Sorry for keeping you all in suspense but i spent the night at a friends and not had a chance to update the league till now.

League Table (after day 2, Phase 2)

- 1. Asad Salam.............. 21
- 2. Pete Gowdy.............. 20
- 3. Dave Wright............. 16
^ 4. Anthony Wright ...... 15
^ 5. Nick Lancaster......... 13
^ 6. Jeremy Rea.............. 13
v 7. Steve Hay................. 12
^ 7. Lee Cooper.............. 12
v 9. Luke Harrod............. 10

v 12. Ali Khan................. 9

The top 3 remain the same tho the gap between 1st and 2nd has gone from 5 points down to 1.
Anthony Wright moves back up to 4th. Jeremy Rea moves up one place to 6th and Steve Hay drops from joint 3rd to joint 7th with Lee Cooper.
Liam Henton goes from 12th to joint 9th and Ali Khan drops down from 10th to 12th.
The bottom 3 remain the same.

Asad Salam remains top but the difference is down to "correct picks" only. Asad has 8, i have just 5.
Liam Henton shoots up the league from joint 9th to clear 3rd moving Dave Wright, Anthony Wright, Nick Lancaster and Jeremy Rea all down one place. Good work Liam, keep it up.
Ali Khan moves up the table from 12th to 8th and Stev Hay drops another few spots from 7th to 10th.
Luke narrowly missed out on a 6 pointer with his 3-0 guess but that late-ish goal meant 2 points instead of the 6 and he drops down from 9th to 12th.
The bottom 3 remain the same.

 A little but Liam has shown today what a good day's scoring can do. He's right in the running from nowhere. That's the beauty of this game. Especially with all the WCs. It means there are so many points available. Not even half way through yet so keep hope.

Yes I am right back in it now! :D I decided to push the boat out a little bit and thankfully I nailed it! Need to back it up with some more Points tonight! 8)

I move above Asad into 1st place. Liam moves yet further up the table to 2nd with more 'correct picks' than Asad. Asad is now 3rd. Come on Liam!!
Anthony Wright leap-frogs brother Dave into 4th place.
Luke Harrod and Steve Hay both move up several places and Jeremy Rea, Ali Khan and Lee Cooper all drop down a few places.
The bottom 3 remain the same.

I'm amazed I'm even that high as I've managed to get ONE result right so far, and fluked a WC on it.

Hey Pete. How come I have 23pts mate ?
1pt for Gueesing an England Win
1pt for Guessing france to win
I am I right in thinking the other 2 points is an assist for Zalatan who set up Mellbergs first goal? :?

Liam

Hey Liam, Ibrahinavic was not awarded the assist (stats taken from uefa's offical tournament stats page). Melberg's "goal" was awarded as an own goal and Melberg was awarded with the assist.

You had 19 points before yesterday's games. You then got 3 points for Ukraine v France for an exact score (You guessed 0-2 and the game ended 0-2 so 3 points). You then got 1 point for the Sweden v England game for a 'non-exact' score putting you on 23 points.
