I've been asked a bunch of Palitoy related questions over last week, so thought it is easier to lump them here, rather than trying to find all the separate threads etc.
Sorry for anyone who has been waiting on answers, with Farthest From - both before and after - it is always a bit mad and still having to dig out info etc :)

Joe - Trilogo store pics :)

Joe, not had a chance to read the article yet, am sure it is kick-ass, will get a cup of tea and enjoy that later this week. Can only find one pic at present, you might already have it:

Also, will make you cringe, here's a nice toy dealer advert from around 1993/94, Emperor's Royal Guard for $20? YES PLEASE:

Lafos - Palitoy MiniRig MailAways :)

I've not seen a Speeder Bike in a white mailer, but that does not mean it does not exist. Through another product, Action Man, Palitoy pioneered a direct to consumer sales department. This allowed them to sell off excess stock that toy retailers would not take at a discount to consumers, but allowed them to actually make more money than if they had sold them to retailers. Products that had been superseded or updated were usually destined for this outlet. Also, from time to time mailshots would be sent out offering these odd's and end's, like this one for Action Man for example:

I do have a list somewhere of what I know was offered, I have had conversations with the person who was responsible for this area of the business several times and the correspondence secretary, but where they did this for Palitoy as a whole, they don't really remember any specifics to individual products.

Vectis Palitoy Figure Case :)

This is a good one, upon initial look 33330 does not relate to any product code or assortment breakdown:

1978 Product Codes:

Palitoy_Archive_Star_Wars_4_zps9pvqxwye.jpg

1979 Product Codes:

Palitoy_Archive_Star_Wars_3_zpsyoqbrl1b.jpg

However it might be a case assortment of just the new 20 back characters or a solid case of a 20 back character like Luke X-Wing for example. These often fell outside price lists, but were available in certain cases as seen here:

Palitoy_Archive_Star_Wars_6_zpsqnjsme9x.jpg

Assortment codes and what they contained changed all the time as the range expanded, this is the last of the product codes for example:

I hope that is of interest and helps, sorry it was all lumped together, good news is though that with the help of NaughtyJedi I will be creating a blog/ directory of information relating to Palitoy online (Palitoy not just Star Wars), so folk will be able to have a resource of sorts there, rather than quoting my old posts back to me ;) :P

Dave :)

Wow fantastic thread, great pictures and great info.

I really love that palitoy sales invoice  I never thought I should see something like that.

Thanks a million for the store pic Dave! What a lovely stack of Trilogo Rancors :o (I think I can see several Trilogs on the pegs too, 2-1B, R2/chirpa?? ROTJ Fetts at the top too!!)

The Palitoy blog idea sounds a good idea - looking forward to seeing that in the future!

You need help if you can spot those from that pic

Some fantastic information contained in those documents.

Oh to be able to go back in time! :D

 I can confirm I need help (and I can also confirm it's a Chirpa Trilogo not R2  )

Interestingly the pic of the unopened box of 48 from the upcoming Vectis sale is 33330, which isn't featured on the list so could be a later assortment box. There could be 20 backs in the Vectis box or dare I say 30 backs.

I noticed that as well and with what Simply Sci-fi mentioned in another thread it could well be 30 backs. That's also why I mentioned in another thread that it probably would have been better not to mention them as being 12 backs in the box until that was certain.

This unboxing of these figures is certainly something I'm really looking forward to and at least we will all know then what's in there :D

Agreed. Like I keep saying, probably the most important and interesting find ever for us Palitoy nuts.

It's definitely been an interesting couple of months Palitoy wise and looks like it's set to continue for a while yet!! :D

Dave,

Great thread. Do you have any information/lists on the 33330 assortment that you may not have shown?

Hi Andy, I think a few people are getting confused looking at the last couple of replies :)
My post is in direct relation to the Vectis case, a couple of people asked me at the weekend if I knew what the case might contain where the product code was known. I don't have any reference directly after looking up. I don't like to deal in speculation as seen so much by others from time to time as that has a nasty habit of then becoming fact, but if I were to place a bet, I'd say this product code is for the new 20 back characters, ie 8 different action figures only, or a solid case of one character, but think that is unlikely given the case quantity. Other product codes relate to combined assortments, but not for individual new releases. That's not fact, that's just piecing evidence of what is known. :)

Sorry my bad for not reading through your initial thread fully and going off at a tangent. It's my birthday today and I've had a few too many glasses of Prosseco, I hope you can forgive me.

Great info. Sometimes it's nice to speculate and get carried away. Half the fun. The 33330 must be between 1979 to 1980 so I'm thinking the same as you.
