I wasn't sure how these would go as I wondered if the crazy bidding from the last lot would have put people off….. it certainly doesn't look that way.
Looking at some of them again, the condition was pretty incredible for most of them and I can imagine that a few collectors with MOC sets probably ended up bidding on them just to complete their collections with place holders. The price of all of these figures MOC is now very high and I can imagine that there are a fair few out of reach for most people ( that's if they ever turn up for sale).
I did manage to upgrade a couple of mine which I was pleased about and didn't end up breaking the bank with them (must have been ones that there wasn't as much interest in). I'm pretty much done now though and it looks like it's just in time as the value of them has become too much for me now. I'm happy with the set I have although I must admit that collection was really as good as it gets (in most cases), and I wonder how the owner of the last lot is feeling about some of the prices they paid for figureless cards without footers (although there were some clear bubble gems in that lot).
I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing more of these come up over the next couple of years as people now know the kind of money that can be made from them. I'm sure there will be plenty of lofts getting opened up around the UK in search of cardboard gold!
