Over 4K netted for the opened Palitoy 12, 20,30 & 41 backs!!

You talking about Steve's auction? I lost out on the Jawa, thought I put in a very generous bid but obviously not generous enough!!

That's some list :o

400 for the farm boy seems crazy and admittedly that Chewy was in great shape but still surprised with that (as I am of most of those 12 backs). Looks like the values are similar to the last big sale although these were complete which makes a bit of a difference (although some of those last ones were also in great condition).

Just feel a little sorry for poor IG, not so much love there :(

Ian

The last big sale the prices were even higher I think for some of the items and they were only cardbacks and bubbles attached.

This sale had the figues and weapons, with some of the original weapons still sellotaped to the inside of the bubbles. Some were very, very nice condition - Leia Organa (white gown) and R5-D4 in particular, others a bit rough round the edges.

I'm surprised Yoda didn't go for more and that Leia Bespin gown with a horrid yellow bubble went for so much IMO

It's going to be a hefty eBay invoice heading Steve's way!!

Great sale though, never thought open carded figures could command such a high price!!

Anyone from SWFUK won anything?? I tried but failed.....

Anyone picked up the £7k Palitoy Luke? It gets listed then ended then listed again ............

..and this is why I had to stop collecting reseals. I started 12 months ago when they weren't all that desirable. Now look at the prices  Had to back out. Crazy

I am sure it was around 1996 I was watching a program that was showing a bit of the Birmingham Memorabillia show at that time and a reporter was at a dealers table(can't rem who)who had a load of mint sealed Palitoy 12&20 backs and among them was a Luke farmboy. I rem the reporter saying something like 'so why is this £400?' And the dealer saying 'because it is prob the only one in the country for sale!'

Wonder what that reporter would say today :)

Very true buddy. The rise in Palitoy popularity has blown things to bits.I remember paying £140 for a esb Luke Xwing 45 back DA offer card in immaculate condition and £130 for a esb Stormtrooper DA card in 2001-now they go for over a grand a piece.

Come to think of it-i sold them to a guy called Kevin Crawford IIRC,never seen the guy about on the forum for years.

Missed out on all of these! Don't remember reading a thread on here about these (as the seller mentioned in the description). I think whoever won them had a lot higher top bids as I was the second top bidder on a couple and suspect I was nowhere near close to what the winner could've paid.

Well I have to say I am pleased for Steve, but really gutted at the same time, I don't normally go for MOC's as you guys know & less for opened cards, but got a little focus on 3 droids so had a go at getting on on the action with the R5 & the DSD, suffice to say my bids went without as much as a bat of the eye's of the high bidder's, I actually met Steve on the final day of the auction to pick up my latest lot of graded baggies & he brought the DSD along to show me (bloody wind up  ) & I have to say it was more minty than any sealed example I have ever seen, hence me having a cheeky bid, the card was pristine & the figure was unsnapped limbs, some guys got themselves some cracking cards there, but the cost phew

probably due to the palitoy scam lol, and at least they know they are genuine, rare reseals in such good condition save people a lot of money against sealed?.
