Great pics spoons!

I used to love AM growing up and it's nice to see that detonator again that's in the dingy. The one problem with AM was always his fingers breaking off I found and it's a shame they couldn't have used a slightly tougher material for them. Small complaint though as you could get some amazing accessories and vehicles for them.

Cheers Ian - the hands are terrible now, many of mine are reproduction as originals are far too brittle to use (slightly different views on repros in the VAM world but just as tricky as SW repros).

You can repair hands that are only slightly gone by using the bleaching techniques for stormtroopers but I've not tried it

I remember the hands, the rubber gripping ones where just as bad.

After sliding my action man down bits of string he soon developed a groove inside his fingers where he was hanging on for his life, it soon put a stop to that game

the solid hands are still pretty good Chubb - apart from those with string damage :wink:

Cheers Grant, my brother had the SAS parachutist. He went out of the bedroom window and was never the same. The crack of his legs hitting the back yard is still with me

I remember one Christmas, early 70s ( :roll: yes I'm that old) I got an action
Man, eagle eyes, gripping hands I think. I got the Tank and Jeep, then the
Royal Coldstream guard outfit, the deep sea diver outfit, and frogman
I was a happy kid that Christmas!

It was the rubber AM hands ones I had growing up that didn't seem to last very long. I can imagine they haven't aged well but I'm sure there are still plenty out there. It sounds like they got worse though.

Sorry Ian - got you confused with JuniorChubb somehow. Those rubber hands are terrible but good ones do survive, you pay a premium though

Thanks Michael - the deep sea diver is a classic and on my want list. I'd like a frogman too but I think the rubber doesnt survive well. The solid plastic of SW has lasted very well in comparison

I've been entering a monthly photo comp on an Action Man forum (more my childhood) and thought I'd share my entries here. Its a tough comp :shock:

Love those photo's the Footballer looks great doing his Gazza celebration in the dentist chair, shame you can't give the action man a Gazza grin since it would have won!

I've picked up much AM over the last years both loose and boxed. My favourite outfit was the Arctic explorer which I'm still trawling through ebay for a decent example but they're either too expensive, dirty or missing stuff.

I just picked these up! They appeared on eBay and couldn't resist. Had them when I was a kid in 1990 when the World Cup was on, made by Kenner too! Probably the last decent Spurs side

It is indeed, one of Baron Ironbloods henchmen. The chap with a radar on his head is Muton, another robotic creation from Baron Ironblood. He is one of the most common carded ones though, so much so that he is worth for loose than on card. But he is an essential addition for any Palitoy enthusiast.

I've just found this section & have enjoyed looking through some great collections.
I've recently finished collecting the second series of Star Trek TMP figures from 1980 by Mego;
Klingon, Arcturian, Megarite, Zaranite, Betelgusian & Rigellian

Wow, fantastic set there!

I've picked up all the humans from this range and although the aliens are still cheaper than picking up a lot of the higher end star wars figures out there they're still a little out of my reach. They do look great all together though and are so much harder to come by than the human figures, I'll have to keep my eye out for some beaters.

Looks like you might have some interesting items in your collection so feel free to post more pictures as it's always nice to see other non Star Wars collections.
