Hi Plantman glad to see there's a few military buffs on here, I have been after a ww1 MK6 Webley for my officers set up but the prices these days for good examples are ludicrous, I remember turning one down at £100 my god I must have been daft in the head :)

What an amazing paper lot with great history behind it! I'm not alone on collecting war collectables! And I thought it was strange to have things that kill and things that are fun! I'll let you know what my stuff is tomorrow. Getting ready for sleep.

Nice with some ww2 stuff . My grandfather where a danish police man . The german's put them all in camps and used them as slave laber to clean up after air raids back in germany .

It was dangerus work , with live bombs laying among the rouins . I have the but of a fire bomb which he picked up in Lepzig .

I also have two dog tags and two spoons . He was in two camps and kept them . I also have an Iron Cross that he tradet some guy in one of the camps for .

I'm gonna keep this stuff as it is history to me and the famley . But i have some other ww2 stuff up FT and maybe sale . One of the thing is a fire bomb but like the one my grand father picked up . And som German insignia . So if any one has some proofs FT hit me up :)

Hi Soren sounds like a nice collection the family history is the icing on the cake, there are some great WW2 stories out there, my gran died last year and i found in my grandfathers papers he applied to join the RAF in 1941 but as an engineer he was in a protected industry he was called up for national service in april 1945 i guess he dropped lucky and wasnt required to turn up due to the war being over, I often used to talk to them about the Sheffield blitz and its effect on on my home town, sad but very very interesting.

Thought I would pass by and show off my Crossbows and Catapults collection (well 50% of one vintage set is mine the rest is Mumbos).

Plenty of Vintage here, enough to an epic battle and a look at the newer sets too.

Some Action Force, G1 Transformers and Vinatge Lego coming soon, well when I get round to photographing them. :D

Oh my goodness! Not seen a Crossbows n Catapaults for years! Brilliant. Never had a set myself but had many a battle round my mates house. Great game, excellent to see, nice one JC!

Cheers lads, most of it is Mumbo's so he gets the credit for amassing that much C&C. Its all working and has been used recently(ish).

Grant, the Blue and Green sets are from a modern set, they where going cheap when Woollies went under, the rest of it is vintage including our childhood set and its all boxed. I think the only missing 'common' set is the Chariots set. Glad you like it.

Cheers Q, it was and still is a great game to play. :D

Yeah I was looking for the chariot set which was the only one I had as a nipper, I think the chariots were the worst weopon though, they did no damage whatsoever. I always wanted the Minotaur and the Trojan horse, although thinking about it now they probably don't do a lot, do they?

Yeah it's a cracking game, love it. Can remember it getting very competitive between jr and I  always remember coming up victorious though jr  going to need a rematch :)

The modern sets are decent but don't compare to the vintage, it's all about the nostalgia :) and the grand battle set is the best, doubling up the bands on the crossbows and creating mass destruction :D

Wonder what they will look like in a detolf :)

We played that all the time, me and my bro had the Grand Battleset, the Trojan Horse & Battering Ram.
When Woolworths was going down the pipes I bought the relaunched ****ing massive set from their for £2.99 they had loads of em in there and no one was buying them.

I also remember a Giants set where you had a Minotaur & a Cyclops, that doubling up the bands method caused a lot of bollockings in our house when we were younger. Also you could easily snap the catapaults.

Going to play with this again next time I see my bro

**** I wish I knew about those I loved it as a kid and it's the kind of thing my son would love.

I remember being very pissed once when my dad used a wall block as a mould for a lead fishing float once

That Minotaur and Cyclops set looks awesome...

Forgot all about it until I saw the pics.

Mumbo, no more Star Wars until you have bought that set.
