Other Vintage Collections

looking good Pete :D I've always thought about branching out from SW and start looking at other things (got a few Silverhawks mocs) but the wife will go mental if she sees them! It's only took me about 11 years to get her sorted on SW collecting!

I got the vamp one after seeing it in an Eagle comic strip! I was more into transformers myself - if you want to see something that's pretty cool look at the WST (Worlds Smallest Transformers) they're copies of the original Gen1 toys scaled down to Gobot size! If been collecting the Dinobots myself...

Continuing my collection of toys i played with in the 80s...
this awesome, near factory fresh Centurions action figure. Been after one of these for ages but they don't come around too often. For anyone who doesn't remember, like most toys in the 80s these had an accompanying cartoon, which ran from 1985-1987 and was awesome! It may not be clear from the pic but the action figure is massive. roughly 7-8 inches in hight.

So far in my 80s collection i have got- Visionaries, WWF, GoBots, Transformers, Police Academy, The Real Ghostbusters, StarCom and now Centurions. In addition to these i have loads of stickers and trading cards from the era which i am constantly adding too. I'll do a group shot at some point.

I know someone who's got a load of loose Centurions and Thundercats figures if you are interested. Having playe... er inspected one recently the Centurion figures are very, very cool if a little large.

Nice pete, I keep saying to myself I will start up a TMNT and Ghostbusters collection but I never get around to it, what I might do however is go for 1 pre prod item from each toy line and make do with that instead of going for a run of production figures!

Thanks guys.

ODB, if the figures are carded i'd probably be interested but not collecting loose outside SW.

Joe, it took me ages to get started but it's all about getting those first couple of lines and then you start building. TMNT is on my list too. Along with a bunch of others. I'll do that group shot tomorrow. Reckon it's gonna look pretty cool! 8)

Awesome purchase Pete, loved watching the Centurians as a young'n.

I wanted one of their action figures for christmas one year but I ended up getting MOTU Clawful instead parents just don't listen!
While I'm on a rant...
It also reminds me of when I wanted a remote control buggy like the grasshopper or the Jet hopper and what do they get me? A remote control porsche that was attached by a pissy cord and only turned in reverse. I look forward to inflicting the same pain on my kids

You weren't the only one that got the wrong gifts at Xmas!

Back when I was a lad one year all my friends got mountain bikes, I did not... and for the whole year I had to run alongside my mates whenever they wanted to go out on their bikes (which was often!) the following Xmas seeing that I didn't have a bike they decided to purchase me one! Now that would have been great except that it was the year that the Playstation had been released and of course all my mates got Playstations.. so on a freezing cold day I had to go ride my immensely heavy bike (felt like it was a solid steel frame with two wheels attached for fun) while all my mates were inside in the warm playing on their computers! Ah sweet memories of childhood

So here's the group-shot of my "toys i played with in the 80s" collection.
Took me a while to get going with this as i kept spending my money on SW stuff but finally got going at the end of last year with the Transformers stuff then added bit by bit. Still a few more to get yet (M.A.S.K, Thundercats, He-Man, A-Team, Karate Kid, TMNT + others).
All are original 80s sealed mocs except the Transformers which are reissues. The originals are too rare and expensive to even think about and these look great. At £40 a pop just imagine how much the originals cost!

Incase you don't recognise any of them (where the **** were you?!?) here's a list of what's what, from left to right -
Back row: Transformers reissues, Centurions (Max Ray), Visionaries, The Real Ghostbusters (Ray Stanz "Fright Features").
Bottom row: StarCom, GoBots, Police Academy (Larvell Jones) & WWF (Mr. Perfect)

Yeah i got them on ebay but from France. Struck a deal with the seller and paid about a tenner each which was a very good deal as you can expect to pay about double that for cards in this condition.
I'm such a tight git and always need to get things as cheap as possible to sleep at night and have had to source these from all over the world in order to get good prices. I got the StarComs from France, The GoBots from Germany, the Centurion from Hong Kong, the Transformers from China and the Police Academy from the U.S. The most expensive by far, ironically, were the reissue Transformers at about £35-£40 each. The Centurion was a similar price. The others were between £15 and £20 per moc. The StarComs (as mentioned) and the Police Academy were under a tenner per piece. Bargains are there to be found if you have the patience. :D

If anyone on here collects sealed packs of stickers, and trading cards from the 80s (and 70s) as i do, i sell them by the shed load. Here's a link to my RS sales thread. Get in touch if you're interested in anything.

Lots of cool stuff there - Transformers, Ghostbusters, WWF, Star Wars, Garbage Pail Kids etc etc. :D

I may be interested in a number of the packs of 4th series Garbage Pail Kids cards. I'll let you know

This won't mean much to most of you but after months and months of searching i finally found a display box for my Paninni Ghostbusters stickers. These ****ers are really hard to come by so i've been trawling all the ebays every now and again in the slim hope of finding one. Eventually spotted one on the German ebay tho as is often the case with the germans, they didn't have PayPal.
Anyway, luckily Emiel was kind enough to help me out with a bank transfer and now for a measly €8, it's mine. It's fairly tatty but in one piece and i'm pretty happy with it. :D
ps. It was an empty box which i've now filled with 100 packs. :)

I'm even more happy to have helped out now I've seen the result. I was an avid collector of Panini stickers myself (Dutch League) and always get a fuzzy feeling when I see that logo. Well done Pete, it's amazing. 8)

As a Real Ghostbusters ( and GB in general ) fan I must say that is cool :) Nice one!
