Congratulations on picking this up looks great.
Seems that there are a few of us on here that would have snapped this up for £40!
Is it a replica or a real "could be used" helmet?

Amazing score on that helmet! I too always wanted one of those and was a 49ers "supporter"!

It's a replica not to be worn. Checked the price on these and they still cost £90 plus postage from the US. So plenty happy, looks the business. I'm not a fan of watching sport. I was in the 80s when they were the top team, but then they started to just lose and I lost interest lol

I thought it was, really nice item, I would have had it for £40!
I watch more American football than I do football these days, always try to see at least one live game a week during the season, and often take the day off after the Super-bowl to be able to sit up a see it live.
It's always such a spectacle.

Not quite sure where to post this but as it's a big nod to Vintage SW and another Sci-Fi classic I thought I'd put it here :D

I have a soft spot for Super7 and loved last years Alien/Hammerhead figure they put out at last years SDCC( pictured here - https://starwarsforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=212&start=2400), that I had to pick up this years con exclusive. I already have this figure which is much heavier and in bronze but couldn't resist this mash up. I love the fact that Maria even has a silver lower leg! Shame the coin arrived upside-down but I suspect some fool will think it's a variant lol.

Here's something that is Vintage and it's the set of 4 AHI Mego style monsters from 1974-76. There are many different variants of these figures but I'm really happy with the 4 versions I have. I picked up Frankenstein years ago and have had some luck with Wolfman, Dracula and The Mummy recently to put them all together. It's all been about waiting for the right ones and at the right price but it's great to have finished this run for me. There are two very different versions of The Creature from this series but I don't have a huge fondness for their design and also these are very expensive so unless I happen across a cheap one I'm not after getting this in with my set.

The Metropolis figure looks very cool

The Mego figures look superb on display I can see me going for some Mego, I'm thinking Batman and Robin, however the classics like Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolfman take me back to my youth.

I had a friend when I was at school who used to make up Horror Models, this would have been around 1978 ( yes I'm that old!!) they were great these were wolfman, Dracula etc, a bit like airfix models that you assembled and painted, would love to have a go at a couple of those

Back to Batman and Robin though they were iconic for me so think I will at some point try and pick the Mego versions of them up.

Great collection mate

This little fella Orco turned up today after being AWOL for about a year, searched high and low for him and he turned up at the bottom of a drawer where my TMNT figures are, thought he done his disappearing trick back to Eternia, gald to have him back so he is on display now, great when lost items turn up out of the blue :D

Cheers Grinchy Yes slowly adding to this run with my son

Man at arms AKA Duncan ( mint figure original) picked up with card, will do some work on this one repair the card and add a bubble just for display

decided to get the first 8 ( wave 1) plus the 9th figure (Faker) with cards and bubbles, the rest loose figures and eventually display with Castle boxed ( which is stored at the moment) and battlecat boxed

Love the artwork on the back of the cards

Nice looking Man at Arms figure Mike and it should be a fun run for you to put together. It's also nice to see you have the comic for him as well as the card, are you thinking of getting all of the first 9 comics as well?

Look forward to seeing this run grow.

Ian

First 9 is a good run and like everything in the collecting arena it's about patience

Already have about 15 original comics to match up and a few loose figures

Need Merman, Stratos, Zodac, Beastman and Faker

Plan is to display all 9 plus battlecat and castle Grayskull boxed ( which we already have)

Still going on the SW 21 back run but struggling with LXW, Wally , R5 as projects at budget prices. Hence a go at MOTU run

So I am collecting where I can resealed/damaged or Mocs with issue from MOTU

But I am collecting with my son for this, and my priority always lies with SW

Where I can't afford, or cannott source I am using custom cards and bubbles with original comic ( correct for figure) and original figure with accessories
I know this is not for everyone's taste but it for us for display

I am working on Teela first ( as we used to rib our son when he was little and ask him if Teela was his girlfriend! to which he used to get really vexed!)

So here is the start

Cleaned up the figure and accessories, need to dull down the cardback as it's too bright and vibrant I'll post up pics when done

Apologies for posting again and hogging the thread!

Can't finish Evil Lyn until I have the staff

So have a he man 12 back all original cardback bubble and comic, so purchased the weapons and a he man to pop in there.
He had sellotape holding together and was badly assembled so firstly carefully took off the old sellotape with a craft knife and patience! and cleaned the residue of tape with lighter fluid
Then positioned the weapons and comic and resealed, this was a bugger as there was parts of the cardback attached to the three quarter loose bubble so had to tuck underneath the comic whilst lowering the bubble into place

Here is the before

Two great looking reseals Mike!

Really nice work and these look great housed back where they should be :D

Amazing work Micheal, my second toy love is vintage MOTU. Unfortunately I sold all my childhood collection including a boxed Castle Grayskull about 10 years ago. Really regret it now, not sure what I was thinking selling the CG.

Love your work, it deserves its own thread. :)

Look forward to the group photo. 8)

Cheers Ian, love getting these back to display standard, need to get the MOTU on show soon. Love the MOTU as used to watch the cartoons with my lad when he was a nipper, so collecting them with him now is an extra buzz.

Yes you've got to love MOTU

Shame you let yours go

We have complete boxed castle grayskull and boxed battlecat, need to get them on display properly though.

I have a battlecat without armour spare if you want him ( you can always pick up the armour) that might set you off on a collecting spree, if you want him he's yours mate, dare you start a collection
