I purchased a cardback (nothing special, just a common ROTJ) and paid 99p plus £2 postage (2d class) which I think is the maximum I'd pay for this type of item unless it was a very sought after card then I'd accept a little more but would then expect padded envelope and additional insert of cardboard (which I always do myself anyway).
Incidentally I had also purchased a single cardback from this seller the week before and I paid £1.50 postage and it was sent padded 2nd class large which I was obviously perfectly happy with.
Seller contacts me today and asks if I could pay another 80p as unexpectedly RM have charged him £2.80!! and he wants to cover all of his expense.
Firstly I am very surprised that a single CB has cost this much as having sent and received many myself it shouldn't cost anymore than £1.20 and is normally just accepted as large 1st or 2nd class.
I've prepared my response and am leaning towards declining his request and have actually queried the amount which I think is too excessive for this item, surely the post office have made a mistake? I've also stated that it's not my fault he has miscalculated the postage and that when I've had a similar situation I've never gone back to a buyer to request further funds as it's just not right.
Thoughts please?
