A galaxy far, far away...
Hi guys,

As you all know, I've not been well and as a fail safe for the immediate future I decided to sell my MOC ROTJ Collection to Iain.

As it turns out, it should all be sorted following my last operation so although I'm not quite out of the woods I am feeling quite well. In hindsight, I didn't really need to sell in the end, but as a deal was struck and I am a man of my word, I didn't and couldn't back out

The only problem is, that now I feel a but numb, it feels like I've lost the collecting bug. Not sure if I can go on.

On a serious note, I'm not sure what to do. I have a healthy little bank roll, but don't know where to start!

Any thoughts?

Cheers,

Bram

P.S Keep an eye on Iains FS threads as I am sure he'll update his collection with my figures and sell off the duplicates!

Hi Bram, glad to hear things are looking up for you regarding your health. I wouldent worry about collecting if I was in your shoes mate just concentrate on you and what will be will be with regards to collecting. I find sometimes it's good to take a break as I think we all know how this game tends to draw you in deep at times.

Good advice Bram. Collecting will never go away mate.
Glad to hear you're on the mend pal :D

Hey if you had to put together a plan of action regarding your collection because of health concerns then don't feel bad at all, I think it would take something similar for most of us to even think about selling up so it was obviously a big decision for you but one that we can all respect as health is far more important than toys - especially when you have a family.

I would honestly take a break Bram, at least from trying to acquire things. You could put that money aside for now and see what the future brings, the toys will always be around to collect mate.

All the best and glad to hear some good news on your health issues!

Most ROTJ figures are easy to find, so not an impossible task to complete again and hunting is always fun. You need to focus on your health. As has been said, the toys will always be available, you only have one life and that is far more important. Bank the money......say hi to us once in a while......and focus on your health.

Chin up Bram your health is the most important thing here. I agree with other comments about having a narrow focus for a while. You could always replace your collection in the future. and they've gone to a good home!

Whenever I sell up I miss it, even if its just owning one figure, as that makes me happy, the last three weeks i been without a single figure as sent it of for recases to AFA and to be honest its pretty ****, cant wait to get my figure back so can be happy again.

Thanks guys... Gonna take all your advice on board.

Having a break from buying for a while, once I get the bug back, I'll be back with a vengeance.

I'll still be on the boards. You can't get rid of me that easy.

Bram

Yeah, pretty sound advice there.

Hey Bram,

That sucks dude, I can only echo the other guys words- take some time out and have a bloody good think about what you want to do. I havent been particularly active the past few months, but it has given me chance to think about collecting goals and a possible new side focus 8)

Hey Bram!

Can only really echo what already been said mate. Take it easy and come back when your ready

Starting a cheap focus is a great idea tho - What about just collecting the cardbacks instead of the actual MOC? :)

You know I am always here if you fancy a chat

Hey Bram, Im sorry to see this post and I cant help but feel a little responsible for helping you make up your mind to sell. I think the guys have said all that needs to be said and your health is always more important.

Personally it sounds to me like you are in a bit of limbo. You have sold up your carded collection and are unsure what to do. Im sure deep down there is still a large part of you that wants to collect but perhaps you are just not sure what to go for? It might just be time to take stock and really think about where you want to focus your efforts and money if at all.

Todd is right and the good thing about ROTJ cards is that they can be collected again relatively easily if you wanted to. Youve held on to some great pieces though and they could form the building blocks for whatever you decide to do next.

Selling off a large collection is hard and it leaves a vacuum in terms of physical space but also in your self. (Sorry to get deep.) As you know, I sold my collection a while back and I also found it very hard at the time but I knew I was going on to try to do something different. I have scaled down and focused my efforts and couldnt be happier with what Ive got.

It seems like you have sold up and not quite worked out what the next step is yet and that leaves you in a tricky situation. Whatever happens mate, we are all here, the toys are still around and if you ever wanna chat youve got my number.

Chris.

Hey Bram
Been away so I've only just read this. I'm gutted for you buddy. It can't have been an easy decision to make. On the plus side, at least your health is on the mend. There's been some good advice given and hopefully you'll get the bug back. Don't you still have your DT run that you were working on?
Hope to see you on the boards soon buddy.
Take care
Lee
