Well our 1st pre season friendly was last night, the big Derby against our neighbours in the Northern Counties East Division. They won the title last season so not a bad test for a run out.

Former Alfreton Legend Josh Law son of Manager Nicky Law has scored twice on his debut for Motherwell in their Europa League tie. Having been loyal to alfreton and making over 400 appearances for us when it was obvious he was way too good it is just what he deserves. Delighted for him!

Not knowing much about other teams players, Josh Law was the player that always stood out whenever we played you.

Went to Matlock last night. Beautiful little ground with a stunning back drop of the Dales. Played 60 mins with mostly stiffs and 2 trialists out then brought 6 1st teamers on and then we lost lol 1-2. Scotty Nielesen with our equaliser. Had a great night stood watching the game with copious amounts of beer, just how it should be, no trouble whatsoever. The snack bar ran out of food after 20 minutes and told us they never expected anyone from GY to turn up ha ha!

OOOH Stop press!!! we have just signed Nathan Arnold! Well chuffed with that, always been a handful against us for Alty

We bought land for the new stadium about 4 years ago now. Still no sign of any development. I'll believe it when I see it.

Well last night we got absolutly torn a new ass 0-4 by Doncaster Rovers. We were 0-1 down after 12 seconds lol the fastest goal in my 40 year life that i have ever witnessed! No excuses they were different gravy. Why bother playing a team that's just dropped out the Championship? Surely it only puts everyone on a downer? Mansfield uo next on Friday night, After scoring 2 VS Leeds last night, let's see what Liam Hearn can do against the mighty mariners!!!

Alfreton 2-0 Walsall

Excellent performance from us parrticulary in the Second half. Great defensive performance restricting Walsall to just 2 clear chances. Could have had 3 or 4 in the second half. Overall, very promising indeed. Both goals by Trialists. We still need a striker or two!
