Non League Football Chat

Vanarama it is then

Vanarama will be officially announced as Football Conference sponsors at some point in the next few days. Weds @ Telford club meeting likely

Grimsby 0 - 1 Mansfield. 2 evenly matched teams, they scored a tap in after a rebound from our keeper. Liam Hearn came on after 60 minutes and did nothing. I spent most of the match in the bar watching it on tv! The end 8)

Grimsby Town 2 - 0 Sunderland Scorers Lenel John Lewis and Paddy Mcglauchlin :D Altho it was not a full Prem 1st team, Danny Graham was up top and their keeper kept the scoreline from 4 or 5 to us.

Started a new thread here for the new season mate unless of course you want to carry on ignoring me for a simple oversight

I can't ignore what i havent seen! Surely it would be better to just change the title of this thread like i did last season from Blue Square chat? That way we can look back at the history weve created and sigh that we are still in this dogshit division

That would be fine. I will ask the mods to delete the other one :)

Thought Id start a new thread with the imminent announcement of the new sponsorship

Alfreton 0-2 Rotherham (Derbyshire and Yates)

Another impressive performance as against superior opposition. We more than matched them for 75 minutes and If I am honest the scoreline flatted them a bit!

We look to have a really sold backline/midfield and are gonna hard to break down. Glaringly obvious however we need a striker/target man

Tbh I don't follow pre-season at all. It's meaningless for fans more a training and fitness exercise.
We've got some tough opening matches though - Grimsby with the toughest.

I know what your saying their a pain in the backside.

You think you have a tough start

This is ours

Woking H - Dark horse for this season IMO
Kiddy A - Always a tough game
FGR A Many Peoples Favourites
Wrexham H Play Offs surely
Grimsby A Top 5 again nailed on
Braintree H Top Ten Side
Barnet A Another Top side

I know what you mean lads! Our 1st 3 games are an even bigger nightmare than normal tho. We have Scott Nielsen, Shaun Pearson and Toto Nsalia all suspended for the 1st 3 games. They are our 2 1st choice centre backs so it's probably the right time to play us early doors.

Alfreton 1 (MacFazedean) Solihull Moors 5

Absolutely horrendous from start to finish tonight in front of a pitiful crowd of 147. Not surprised as we were charging a £10!

Well good to get the wank performance out of the way before the real work starts.

unrecognisable to the side who beat Walsall and were the equal of Rotherham.

Gainsboro Trinity 1 - 3 Grimsby Town Lincs Cup semi final. We were 0-1 down to a 1st half penalty with 20 mins to go but John Paul Pitman our new USA striker levelled before super Rossi Hannah scored twice in injury time. Onto Lincoln in the final this Tuesday night i think it is.

Brigg Town 1 - 2 Grimsby Town

Weird 1 this. We played NOT 1 PLAYER who is gonna start on Saturday VS Bristol Rovers yet none of them would look out of place in the 1st team. Does that make sense lol.
Oh and Andrew Boyce, centre back from sCUNThorpe has rejoined us on loan as we had him for the back end of last season.

The difference in the teams from last night and Saturday are :

VS Brigg was

Bastock, Nsiala, Humble, Pearson, Bignot, Walker, Venney, Winfarrah, Neilson, Bemrose, Pittman.

VS Bristol Rovers will be

Mckeown, Thomas, Boyce, Doig, Magnay, Mckreth, Disley, Brown, Mcgloughlin, Hannah, John-Lewis.

Yes!!! We have that many missing tomorrow with Toto, Nielsen, Pearson suspended and yesterday Arnold and Pittman injured and Ross Hannah doubtful so it's the biggest and latest signing we couldve made, delighted! He scored 29 goals for us in his last season. Funny how he was replaced by Hearn and now he has replaced Hearn :D

Hmmmm.......... great result but very average performance. Torquay were just ..... non-existant really. A very strange game.

Heard the attendance at the GIS was 1,765 with 160 odd from Torquay. Obviously the offer to allow Sunderland ST holders to enter for a reduced price worked!! :)

Dissapointing from us today. Still their are 45 further games to improve! Must say tho Woking where impressive
