Non League Football Chat

There ya go Chiffy ya cheeky git :D Although 3-0 at home to Lincoln isnt nothing special, but we have played a good game of footy tonight.Had a reasonably good crowd, and still way more than any other team in the league  My worry is that there will be more shifting and shuffling, but i know it has to be done.Having Lawless back was great too.

Now we are looking forward to shoving all those cod and halibut down your throats Friday night!!! haha.

Excellent stuff mate battering our local rivals i've got my fingers crossed that they go down to the blue square north  The **** we got off them when we came down, then the next season they came down and it's funny you know, we never get a peep out of them nowadays
RE Friday you should, on paper, beat us confortably. Not making excuses as we've won out last 3 away games but now we've secured the final play off spot, our gaffer Rob Scott in the post match interview i've just listened to says he will be resting everyone over the next 3 games to prepare for what will probably be 2 legs vs kidderminster so expect a few of our reserves in. You know my thoughts on Luton as a place and based on previous trips to you i will not be making the journey i'm afraid but were going to Mcmenemys on Friday which show prem sports inside our massive findus stand, £3 a ticket with a free drink so bargain its really posh and you would not think you were in our dump of a ground if you didnt already know lol and its always packed and sold out when town play on that godforsaken channel so go easy on us please pal, all the best.

Luton aint that bad.As long as you come with a kevlar vest, you are fine:)

Nah,its just the minority that give Luton a bad name. Its hard, but it happens.But.....ITS MY LUTON!!! lol

A Huge Congrats to evveryone at Alfreton Town for a third season in the BSP!

A monumentual achievement to be mixing it with Luton, Lincoln and Hereford who have housing estates with a bigger population then Alfreton!

Prould of the lads! :D :D :D

I don't know how interested you guys will be in this, but I work for the company that owns Blue Square, and last week Blue Square was sold to Bet Fair and is basically going to be absorbed (they just wanted the customers, they do not want the brand.) So I imagine the league will change in the near future, either to Bet Fair, or perhaps a new sponsor completely.

I can't believe Luton are in this league, they were a first/Premier team when I was a lad! amazing how fortunes can change.

I tell the students I teach about the teams at the top when I first started watching football. Luton, Oxford Utd, Charlton, Nottm Forest. But then before that there was Burnley, and other teams who've dropped.
Most kids today think there was no football before the PL other than '66.

I heard the league was being renamed to Fila but don't know if it's true?

So. Time to bump this for the new season :D :D

Fixtures released today.

Tough looking start for Alfreton away at Dartford followed by Home to Kidderminster H.

So whats your predos for the new season Guys?

Chiffy - With the current situation at Aldershot your first game might not even happen :?

Richard - Tough looking for yourselfs too at Aggborough v the Harriers.

Not really been keeping much of an eye on the BSP. Anything big happened! I know Macclefield and Aldershot are struggling.

And that we have sold several of our best players but have replaced them with sereval personnel it just depends whether or not they are good enough for this level. I have faith in Nicky tho. He has got us this far?! :D

PS with all our recent new Members have we any other Non League Fans on here?

Our main guy (Gillies) is training with Carlisle. He's been there a few weeks now. Some new lads appeared who've been ditched by Boro, Newcastle and Sunderland as per usual.
Survival looks as though its going to be the key again.

Yay it's nearly that time again! Just got me tickets for our 1st friendly tomoz night ad surely the biggest derby in the world... Cleethorpes Town VS Grimsby Town! Clee play in Grimsby and Grimsby play in Clee

Anyways Clee Town are an up n coming club. My daughter, nephew and eldest son play for their academy and they are about 5 leagues away from the Blue Square so watch this space. Game is sold out tomoz with their 900 capacity stadium but it is brand new with floodlights and 1 stand with a great modern bar and conference facilities. Will let you know how many we lose by tomoz lol.

1 of my mates, released by us last season, has just signed for Alfreton. Bradders Wood is a right animal and a top bloke. He played most games for GTFC last season and a fans favourite so as usual he gets released in his early 20's!
So far weve signed Scott Nielsen, Scott Kerr, Alex Rodman and Paddy Mclaughlin. Just need another centreback to complete the jigsaw and of course a fully fit Liam Hearn is going to give us the title

Our 1st game VS Aldershot is indeed in doubt. Personelly i hope it gets called off as weve got a stag do in Sheffield/dog racing day sorted but some of us are now having to go after the game but nevermind these things are set to try us!
Good luck to all the tinpot clubs in our dogshit league this coming season and please try and keep up, even Luton

Cleethorpes Town 0 - 2 GTFC

Winterton Rangers 0 - 5 GTFC

Up next is Brigg Town and then were facing League 2, League 1 and Premiership sides before the season starts

Quick update seeing as im talking to myself

sCUNThorpe 3 - 0 GTFC

GTFC 0 - 2 bradford

GTFC 1 - 0 hull

after 2 well deserved beatings we then go and beat a premiership side :?:

That's football i suppose....

Hey Chiffy.

Nice pre season there. Pretty close. Much better than ATFC but its nearly time for the big kick off.

PS you might wanna change the title of the thread to our new sponors Skrill! (an alternative to paypal)

Not long now!

There are a few rumours around that Alfreton where so close to signing Barnes Homer! What a signing that would have been

Agreed. Although judging by our tough fixtures. Our season might not start till September!

Big game against Salisbury on Saturday! :D
