So - It seem we are 24hrs away from another Haslab announcement.....
Anyone care to take a punt?

Seems very likely it will be Tatooine based - maybe a Sandcrawler? - A Salracc Pit with Skiff (to go with the barge from back in the day) - might be nice.
Anyway - we will find out tomorrow....

It will most likely be Tatooine based, but I'd love something Prequel themed.
Think Gungan Sub, Naboo Starfighter etc. 🤔

So I was right, a Prequel ship.

Who's in?

That is fair - My Ghost is boxed and sat on the floor - too big to go anywhere - but the other side is not wanting to regret not getting it and ending up paying xxxx down the road - good news is there is a month to think about

Well - it does seem to be of to quite a slow start support wise - over 2k supporters but normally the first 48hrs sees a big adoption followed by a month of plodding and then a surge in the final 48hrs. I am sure it will fund (it is cool), but whether it unlocks everything is another question.

Right now I am on the 'not going to support' side of the fence - but will keep an eye on it...

Its interesting (in maybe a very nerdy uninteresting way) to see both the Haslab projects struggling a bit (The GI JOE one is crawling over the line right now - although with 15 days to go it will get there).

Saw a post on one of the social platforms complaining about the LAAT - simply stating why are Hasbro giving us a ship we've all already got (a lot) - with an image of the Clone Wars Dropship under it. and that is a great point, The Dropship would have been amazing, also amazingly expensive - but maybe thats the point, people will pay for the thing that isn't out there. All of the other SW Haslabs that have funded have been for things that have never been done before and will likely never be done again, actually as I type that I laughed, given Hasbro now have the molds I am sure they may revisit down the road. I watch an interview with the Studio Series Transformers team who let drop that at some point down the road they plan to reuse the mold of the Unicron (Haslab project) with their S86 Line - but not for a long, long time....

Anyway - I still think The LAAT will fund, but I doubt it will unlock everything - we will see.

That's what I was thinking, Haslab was all about the once in a life time opportunity to get something that wouldn't and won't be offered again.
If there is such a thing Haslab was meant to be a "Grail" item, which this isn't, no matter how nice it is.

I hope it does fund as I want the figures which should be released no matter if the tiers are meet or not. 🤞

I think it may struggle though as there must be fatigue with the collectors who buy these as there has been a lot to shell out for from Haslab lately.
I would certainly not knock any of the backers, collect what makes you happy, but I am fully in the will not buy camp, as I don't have the room, if I did I would already have an example.

Well, my take is that I think it's absolutely rip-off overpriced, especially here in the UK where Hasbro do a straight $ for £ conversion without any justification whatsoever. This set is simply not worth £450. As of today, 30/07/25, £1 is worth $1.32, meaning the actual $ to £ conversion should make this set £341. That's a price I'd probably (grudgingly) pay, but when you're asked to fork out an extra £100 for literally no good reason other than to boost greedy Hasbro's coffers, I resent it greatly.

I want the figures of course, but like most collectors I suspect, I also want them a lot more than I want yet another Gunship. We've had plenty of Gunships before, and whilst this one is of course a significant improvement on its predecessors, so it damn well should be! Those improvements however, in my opinion at least, fall short of justifying making it into a Haslab project. Those projects should be really special, and simply making a new version of an existing ship that's 20% bigger doesn't really impress me all that much.

The Gunship is also massive and one I have no room to display. Boxed, depending on whether Hasbro can effectively detach the wings (which I suspect they will be able to), it should be smaller than the monstrous Ghost box, but it's still likely to be pretty damn big, which makes storing it a real issue. I seriously doubt whether this will unlock all of its tiers, if indeed it gets funded at all (my guess is it probably will be... just), but if Hasbro have indeed put resources into sculpting new figures for it, they're really not going to let that investment go to waste. The pack-in ones (whichever ones they prove to be, but certainly including the new Clone Pilot) are unlikely to be reissued outside of this set any time soon, IMHO. However, the ones that don't make it, just like Arleil Schous, the figure that failed to make it into the Haslab Cantina, I very strongly suspect will indeed be released on either a standard card, or maybe as part of a multi-pack, at some point down the road.

So will I buy it? I certainly don't want to, but if all the tiers should unlock, as a loose figure collector, I might find myself feeling bullied into shelling out for it, even though I don't really want the ship itself. Selfishly therefore, I hope it doesn't reach its backing target. Now before anyone objects to that, I would politely point out that me hoping for a particular outcome doesn't in any way influence that outcome beyond the scope of my singular vote by either backing or not backing it. I have no magical powers, but just like everyone else, I have an opinion and I'm entitled to it. Others can wish this gets made and I won't object to their view, so please allow me to have mine. If this thing ends up getting made and I don't buy it, I hope the backers truly enjoy their purchase, but if it doesn't, I've saved myself £450, and since I think we'll end up getting the new figures sooner or later anyway, that's certainly my preferred option.

To be fair they should have re-done the Tartakovsky version from The Clone Wars (yes we have one already), but it is the coolest paint job and is 20yrs ago now - Fan Boys (including me) would have been all over that.

But yes - overall I think that what will make this struggle is the LAAT is a pretty well trodden ground, which makes this feel - un-special - I remember when the Ghost was announced and I was hitting the support button within seconds of it going live, I was sooooo excited to get that ship (likewise the Razor Crest).

Such a shame when there were so many other things they could have done....
