new graders ukg

Do you keep your in the loft Steve. I had quite a few sealed vehicles and playsets in the loft. I have noticed over time that some off the tapes. Have come undone not making them sealed any more

No i keep them at my dads hes had all his loft made into rooms so I have taken use of one for my stuff,.
I found that with a loft they can get very cold and damp and that can ruin your stuff

How much extra would it be steve to get playsets ands vehicles cased in UV. I will definately send you some stuff to grade in the next couple of weeks

I am not sure it would be nice but I am not sure if they would suffer with shipping costs from us to them, because thats what makes it expensive.

Not only the shipping, but the overall exchange rate is not good for us in the states at the moment. Sounds like you have started something good across the pond though.

AfA have there population report. Which have not been updated in god knows how long(this is really annoying me) Will you be updated your's with the photos on a regular bases

Hi Tiefghterboy thanks,
We are currently working on our archive which we want to run smoothly if you get what I mean.
What we want is for a search bar on the website main page were you just type in your archive number and it brings up the item in question.
We have nearly finished doing this now but it takes up alot of web space with photos and a write up if you get me.

As for population reports what we are doing is on the archive we list what number it is in relation to the item for example on a loose figure is we have previously graded one the same we would add under the photo with the archive number (SW000001 Boba Fett(2).).
The (2) signifies that its the second we have graded.

When we archive an item this is how your infomation will be next to a photo of your item.

Welcome to the forum :D

I'd be very interested in your sliding bottom cases, especially for some ships / playsets I have, I'll be in touch.

As regards grading, its great to see someone in Europe having a serious crack at this. I just wondered what system you will have in place to ensure impartiality when grading? I know that AFA have admin staff who allocate a number to each submission when it arrives. This removes any personal data from the items so the graders don't know whose items they are dealing with. This obviously avoids any chance of favouritism to customers who submit a lot of items (for example Hasbro, Cloud City and Brians Toys with AFA).

I see from the above posts that you will be grading items yourself, will you also be handling the submissions as they come in, go out? I know this is difficult to avoid with minimal staff when you are just starting up but its worth thinking about to avoid later criticism

So lets say i bought a figure for Ã'£5 and it appears to be in absolute mint condition with original weapon etc, I send it to you for grading and it gets (possibly) a good grade, this will cost me roughly Ã'£20, I'll get it back in one of those acrylic cases with a sticker/note on ith stating its grade etc....

How many people would then be prepared to pay Ã'£25+ for it?

The gradings don't interest me as they are always down to other peoples opinion but it looks as though the are going to be busy selling cases !!

Hi
Yeah we definitely want to be impartial to grading and we will be,we really want to make this work, Obviously at the minute theres only 4 of us but hopefully in the future we will have to set on more graders and staff so we can have more systems in place we just need people like yourselfs to support us.
Thanks for everybodys support by the way its you guys that we need to ask the questions and set the high standards that we aim to get(I know that might sound a bit cheesy so sorry for that).

Steve

Hi 01AB,
With the price for grading we charge Ã'£12 for a loose figure cased and graded and that includes it going on the archive which I have been told today will be up and running in the next few days complete with photos.
Ã'£25 would be for a vintage carded figure with UV case graded.

Steve
