new graders ukg

Hi everyone,
In answer to one of the questions about the NEC, we have booked a stand again at the end of march and we are going to be taking our sample cases out again to show people what we do and what we are all about, also we are hoping to take a load of the slide bottom cases with us so you can just get them direct from us there.

A bit of background about me...
I started collectng Star Wars when I was a kid probably like most of you, and it all went from there.
I went into all sorts of toys from there I dont know what it is I just love them,Action force,Transformers,lego,M.A.S.K etc...... it might seem a little strange collecting everything but I couldnt help it.

Anyway why did me and Mark decide to start up UKG?.
Mainly because we wanted to offer a good grading service to the U.K, as many of us were waiting and waiting for AFA to open up over here but it just didnt seem to happen.
And it can get really expensive with postage costs and risks of shipping to the U.S.
So after a year of planning and getting the right people on board we ended up were we are today, we went live at the end of Dec and we have still gots lots we want to do with regards the website etc..
But we are having a good response so far, and we have even done some items for a guy in Germany.

Hi
How do you think your service compares to afa apart from being in this country and who grades the figures
Thanks
George

As for a level of service that we offer.
We are available to talk to or contact via email.
You can come and see us at the NEC face to face.
When you send us an item to grade as soon as it arrives with us we inform via email, and give you an estimated time(normally returned within a week.)
When we send it back you can track your item right up to the point of delivery.
We offer a third party grading system.
And once our archive is fully ready all your items are stored in there along with their archive number and photo so if you ever come to selling the item or just want to check its grading details you can just type it in and there it is.
And also we discount large orders say if you wanted 5 figures plus grading we would reduce the final price.

Hi George,
I am one of the graders along with Mark plus we have 2 other people grading.
But hopefully if people use us more then we will have to look for another grader.

Hi Steve amd welcome to the forums, from reading what your plans are for UKG they seem pretty much spot on and if prices/services are top notch you'll be getting a fair number of orders from the guys on here.

Is it just loose grading your concentrating on or are you eventually thinkning about branching out??

Kris

Hi Kris,
Thanks for that, we have mainly been grading loose figures so far although we have got plenty of cases for carded figures and we are currently grading 12 carded figures for a guy, and we have done a few custom cases for people a YPS comic and a Darth vader with photo next to it.
If you want to se any pics of anything we have graded drop me an email at http://www.ukgraders.co.uk and I would be glad to send them to you or anybody else on here.

Hi Weasel our scale woprks in a percentage out of 100% if you look on the what we grade page on our website theres a picture of what our labels look like.
Price for grading depends on what it is you want, but we can do custom cases as well
I have just got to log off but I will be back later to answer any more questions

Steve.

Hi,
yeah we do UV cases aswell, when you fill in the order form just let us know that you want UV cases, they cost a bit more as the plastic is more expensive but I would try and keep it down as much as possible.

We can also do all U grade figures and we would put that info on the labels for you.
Do you know the classic edition 4 pack figures that were released? We have just one of those in to U grade.

Hi Ukgrader guys, I met you at the November Mem show, and at that time you didn't do loose cases.

What kind of price would you ask for acrylic cases for vintage carded figures, diecast carded stuff and custom cases (4 packs etc).

I normally use Oscar in the US for that kind of stuff, and it costs me around Ã'£10 a case (inc. postage) if I order 10 cases.

and there is always a risk of a custom charge

Hi Spoons,
For carded vintage star wars figures we charge Ã'£20 each but the more you order the price comes down.
We charge a set price as with AFA they do tiers and depending on how long you want to wait for your item.
But with us we can get it done and back to you normally within a week and obviously the postage isnt going to be as much as from the U.S.
As for cases for die cast they would be cheaper per case as the case is smaller.
I think I can remember talking to you were you interested in the corgi cars being cased up?
If so those type of cases are going to be around Ã'£14 but again cheaper if you order more.

thanks (it wasnt me that was interested in the corgi cars), its not the graded stuff I'm interested in more just the loose cases. What are your prices for them - particularly the vintage diecast SW cases?

Hi Spoons and Weasel.
For the slide bottom style cases? if so for a vintage carded figure we are going to be doing them at about Ã'£8.99-Ã'£9.99 per case and it will be about the same for die cast cases too.
We are hoping to have them in stock by mid march.
