MOMC Palitoy ROTJ Boba Fett

I'm confused, reading this thread it seems that people believe this items should carry a potential warning as it's possibly a Toni yet the ebay listing has nothing??

For sale is mint unopened Palitoy ROTJ Boba Fett on a 45 back card. I bought this for my own Star Wars collection back around 1996 from Jim 'Mr Star Wars' Stevenson for the grand price of £40.

The only defect I'd say is a 3mm crack which is on the bubble where it's pressed onto the card. The machine pressing of the bubble is visible on the rear of the card when the factory seal was applied. This is a good thing as there has been numerous fakes on the market where they cannot replicate the machine pressing.

Hopefully the photos speak for themselves on how good this is. One of the most desirable Star Wars figures does not come on the market that often.

Shipping in the UK will be by next day special delivery. Overseas shipping will require insurance to cover any damage caused during transit and will therefore be higher.

Good luck and May the force be with you.

So after all that, no mention of it possibly being a Toni. I'll have to add you to the blacklisted sellers thread if the description isn't amended.

Well another, if it turns out to be something i don't like, i better be dishonest and sell it without mentioning it....
I guess if it turned out it wasn't a Toy Toni, i am sure he would had put that in the description with a link to this thread....

Thank you for posting the link as I cannot get Ebay on my works computer.

I have mentioned in the description that numerous fakes are on the market. Whilst you guys can only give a fair assessment from the photos I've provided, holding the carded Fett in my hands you can clearly see the bubble having been machine pressed. I truly believe I have an original and not a Toni.

Am I supposed to lose out on selling an original Fett because of the actions of others? Surely serious buyers should be well aware of the Toy Toni scandal anyhow?

I'll quite happily add a link to this discussion on the auction description. I cannot change the title as there are now bids.

I was kind of hoping to see a picture of that double stem from a couple angles? I guess that request was misinterpreted as something else :?

The added comment saying that because the bubble is at a slight angle means that it's genuine due to not being perfect is crap. It means the exact opposite. There are no genuine factory sealed cards with bubbles at an angle as far as I am aware and that is because the factory press has a hole for the bubble and card so that they stay in one fixed place. A bubble at an angle would indicate that the bubble slipped during the home made sealing process. Toni sold plenty of cards with less than perfect seals in the early days while he was perfecting his sealing process. This card is from that era.

In regards to his statement about the bubble being at an angle meaning it's a legit factory carded Fig ??? I have to agree it is crap statement to make. By the way Jason I sent you a pm.

A TT placed bubble would never have been at a slant! His methods were flawless! I say again flawless!

Got the PM. So there are some Kenner cards with bubbles at an angle. At the very least an at an angle bubble does not prove a genuine factory seal or a Toni either way then.

Cheers Jason

And regarding the statement that a sideways head means a genuine card. That is also crap. Figures can move around inside bubbles over time, especially if the head is not tight, like say, on a figure that has been played with over time. This card was bought in the mid 90s so there's time for that to happen. It didn't need to be twisted when the card was sealed. Again, doesn't prove anything either way.

The new owner is now asking questions about authenticity about this piece on my facebook group:-

Although the seller mishandled this, the piece's value is pretty much capped by the suspicion of being a TT. The blister has yellowed. The "indentations" are in my opinion a sign it was non-factory sealed rather than the other way around. I think the final bid price was where it was going to end up regardless, but I do agree making no mention of it and trying to be a renegade when he was told differently in this thread should deservedly land this seller on the list. Too bad the buyer didn't catch on to this thread, or the seller didn't at least point him to it before exchanging goods for money. A little hassle from PayPal and the buyer at this point is what he had coming to him when he ignored the need to disclose it as a TT.
