No need for this thread at all................I just couldn't resist, if only to imortalise this;
"Liverpool were the better side and fully deserved to win" Alex "****" Ferguson (He ain't no ****in 'sir' to me) 4.05pm 25/10/09
Seriously though, a midfield with Giggs AND Scholes, both starting!? Both fantastic players, with more medals than you could shake a stick at, but also both the wrong side of 35!
In a game that is always gonna be high tempo and intense, surely someone who could run a bit more would have been a better idea? I'm not his biggest fan but would Anderson not have been a better starter?
Carragher/Owen.........Seen plenty of people (in Carragher's position) sent off. Lucky to get a yellow.
Vidic/Kuyt..............Very similar to the above, as Carragher was only booked only fair Vidic was only booked, but more often than not both are straight reds. Mind you there were more Liverpool players within reach of Owen than United players within reach of Kuyt. BUT I guess Owen was 20-25 yards out where as Kuyt was on the half way line.
At the end of the day both got yellows for very similar fouls, so all's fair I guess. The ref was consisent.
I thought Mascarano was unfortunate. He pulled out of the tackle with VDS when he realised he wasn't getting the ball. VDS made a meal of it, but then players do that and I guess Mascherano should know better, so............
