latest film/ dvd you have seen

A bit Off-topic here, but I was reading an article in Empire this month about the Hobbit. Not sure what to expect from it, but apparently it's going to be 2 films and it will bring events right up to the start of the LOTR's.

I heard one of the blokes who played a Hobbit in LOTR's saying he expected his character to be in the Hobbit, cos people would want to see them again........minor draw back, his character wasn't ******* born!
I'm hoping they go with the books and don't start re-writting things to try and please everyone, or just destroy it like they did "I am Legend".

Brilliant book, I only read it after the first LOTR's came out. I think it's better than the LOTR's trilogy.
Fingers crossed the film is half as good as them!

That "I am Legend" film was ***** IMO!
 
I agree, the book is brilliant though.
They completely changed the ending, and thus ruined the whole film.
Wikipedia it, but safe to say the main character isn't the happy content guy Will Smith plays. He's a suicidal, clinically depressed alcoholic. As you probably would be if you were the only man left alive on the ******* planet.

Thoroughly recommend reading the book though. It's by Richard Matheson (spelling of his surname may not be right)
 
Watched tropic Thunder a fe night ago. Its quite good. Ben Stiller films are quite good,

If any of you havent seen Dodge Ball give it ago it was brilliant.

Went to the cinema to see Benjamin Button last night, really good movie - one to see with the Mrs.

Then we got back and watched Hot Fuzz AGAIN and I still laugh everytime he dropkicks that old woman over the wall!

My favourite bit in Hot Fuzz was when they were transfering him to another police force and he says he will have to check with every one.
When he turns round everyone inthe police station is celebrating his departure.
Totaly funny as feck,

It wasnt to bad mate. Shaun of the Dead was ok to. I took the bird to the cinema to see that.

Niether of them are a patch on Dodge Ball tho.

They were awesome. Especially Happy Gilmore. When he dived into that lake to get his golf ball back from the crok I almost fell of the chair with laughter.
 
Watched The lives of others last night. Great movie about the East German Secret Police (Stazi) monitoring the lives of a threater director and his actress girlfriend.

Scarey to think how people lived their lives in East Germany before the fall of the Berlin Wall :shock:

Subtitled, but its no put off. :wink:
 
Went to see Watchmen last night with my wife and a few mates at Ireland's First Digital cinema (Dundonald). I thoroughly enjoyed it, though a couple of my mates who are big fans of the graphic novel, thought it was a little long winded at 2 hours & 42 minutes but still very entertaining.

It aint necessarily your typical "super hero movie" but I would recommend it if you like that sort of thing :wink:

some people may be not like it on here as there are some offensive bits in it if your from the far east :x

yeah gran torino is cool

just saw watchmen, even though I had not heard of the comic before and it was quite good although a bit of a ****** up ending
 
Watchmen! recomend a read of the graphic novel chaps its awesome. wanna see the film as yet havent had a chance!!

watched Elektra on itv a few nights ago shes hot the film has its moments but overall average really :(
 
on a heavier note, finally watched 'The Motorcycle Diaries'

great film if you can follow the subtitles
