latest film/ dvd you have seen

Watched Joker yesterday, thought it was really good. Very dark, certainly worth a trip out. Anyone else watched it?

Had a bit of free time recently so I've been watching a film a night. Something I wanted to watch for ages was Annihilation - I saw the trailer but it seemed to disappear and I just I found out it was only released on Netflix.

It's a real shame it didn't get a theatrical run, it's one of the best sci-fi films I've seen in ages.

It's Alex Garlands next film after Ex-Machina and if you liked that then you'll enjoy this I'm sure. It's clever, dark, beautiful to look at and superbly acted.

Loved annihilation damn good film 8)

Saw Joker last night and thought it was bloody brilliant! Dark, yes, but puts a great new spin on the character and Phoenix is fantastic. Not your average "comic book" movie.

:D Just watched Toy Story 4 at the weekend and saw a couple of vintage action figures in the background.
In the film after Bo and Woody return to the antique shop, she takes him into a pinball machine if you look down around the floor level of this pinball toy disco, in the background, you will see Obi-Wan Kenobi and Walrus Man re-enacting their Mos Eisley Cantina fight in Kenner action figure form.
He even gets his arm cut off.
Luckily the kids didn't see this terrible violence in the background but it made me smile though.

I agree mate, it certainly is far from your average comic book effects laden movie. Phoenix is simply brilliant. If you have not seen it, do so...a great actor working his craft wonderfully. Simply put, he puts on as good a performance as you could wish to see.

So, yes, I liked it

Pacific Rim Uprising - Thought it was rubbish, struggled to watch the entire film. 5/10

Equalizer 2 - Relly liked this fim, great fun although the plot was predictable (not suprising) I still like it. 7/10

The Irishman - Loved this, although long, watched it over 2 nights. Great cast and an instant classic. If you like Goodfellas, Scar Face and The Godfather you will love the Irishman. 8/10

The King on Netflix is well worth a watch. Not historically accurate, but bloody good drama, really well acted and some brutal battle scenes.

Prospect, also on Netflix is a great lofi, indie sci-fi with a design aesthetic that plays big homage to Alien. Love it!

Watched the Irishman the other day, fantastic film.

Watched Prodigy on Netflix tonight, well worth a watch :D

I watched 1917 today, pretty good, not amazing but good story and acting. If you like war films its worth a trip to the Cinema. 7/10

Thankfully my two have grown out of cbeebies, that said some of the stuff my 9 year old daughteter watches is even worse!

I'm planning on making the wee man watch all the stuff I watched as a kid. Mr Benn, Wacky Races, Visionaries, A-Team etc

I was dragged to see Jumanji 2 by my lad... awful! I actually really enjoyed the first one (and the original too), but this one was a mess. What a shame :(

I watched Joker last night. I thought it was OK but not worthy of all the hype its getting. Nicholson is still the best Joker for me!
