I was never a fan of Hamburger Hill. I found it a real let down. Gotta agree on the others though. I'd add Band of Brothers and Full Metal Jacket.

I thinks Hamburger Hill was a good movie but I also loved Band of Brothers and Full Metal Jacket 8)

Best war film EVER is clearly Kelly's Heroes :D

WOOF WOOF!

Agree Kelly's Heroes, awesome war movie.

Where Eagles Dare and The Heroes of Telemark is also some great war movies 8)

Watched:

Jungle Book - actually quite enjoyed it with the kids 8/10

The Room - ok, not a fan of the awful tragedy type films 5/10

The Boy - typical budget horror, ok a suppose 5/10

Saw the new Star Trek film yesterday. It's ok. Not amazing, but not bad. Not one you'd watch over and over, the plot has a few holes in it and it's a bit thin in places, but it easily killed two hours. So prob worth a watch.

Never really got into Startrek before until last week. I bought a box set of all the original movies and plan to start them soon. Watched abit of the motion picture and think I am going to injoy them.
Has anyone got a chance to watch ghostbusters yet. It seems to be getting good reviews. Or even suicide squad?

The new Ghostbusters is something that i hear wildly different things about. I hated, absolutely hated, the trailer. It's not something i'll be going to see. But online there are people saying it's ok. Not great - just ok. Youtube reviewers all seem to say it's pure garbage. Newspaper reviews say it's a fun movie :? Go see it and tell us what you think.

Bad Teacher - quite a funny film and I liked Justin Timberlake and Cammeron Diaz in it 8)

Loved the first one, but each subsequent one has got less and less direction, as if the new route and actors are already running out of steam. The 3rd one's plot has been done a 1000 times before. The energy you saw from the actors in the first film has largely disappeared, and they are just sleepwalking through this one, with a few of the jokes falling flat. Next.

Now trying to watch Ghostbusters for the second time. Poor doesn't begin to describe it. Unless they all get their tits out soon, it's a big let down :(

Took a flight and watched this selection:

Goosebumps - really enjoyed this, light and fun kids film, Jack Black was good value. :D

The Revenant - yeah, it was ok, I can see why it won stuff but felt like a Dances with Wolves rehash really. :?

The Darjeling Ltd - odd, these guys films always are, but I enjoyed it a lot! 8)

The Wolverine - somehow I hadn't seen this before and I thought it was pretty good for an X-men / comic book movie... I usually hate them!

I really like goosebumps too (great kids film)

And the return flight...

- London has Fallen - just what you'd expect. A lot of running about shooting and stuff exploding, I've seen worse and it burn away plane time :D
- How to be Single - Chic Flic? Comedy? Not really sure what it was... got to the end though so it wasn't dreadful. Rebel Wilson was both the high and low point of the whole thing though.

Watched the film 'Unbroken' the other day....it's a great film that's based on a true story....Set in WW2 it's about the story of an Olympic athlete that gets caught by the Japanese....it's a brutal film and I can only imagine this being a pale comparison to the actual truth

Back from the cinema, watched suicide squad, really enjoyed it a good action flick, and watched the new star trek movie, again thought it was really good,

Just watched Fast & Furious 7 today, tbh I didn't really rate it....Yeh its full of action etc...but it was way overboard in places

The F&F films have gotten poorer the furthur they went on.....the first and second films were great the third was turd  and the 4,5,6 were under par especially when Dwayne 'The Rock ' Johnson came into the fold  I just cannot take him as a good actor,he's a wrestler and that's that (I'm not keen on wrestling either)

Quit run through another batch of post holiday come down movies, nothing of note unfortunately.

- Antman - OK, better than many comic book films, somewhat saved by Michael Douglas for me as he at least provided some grounding and credibility... for what that may be worth in this type of movie. No need for the final scenes setting up future films... yawn

- Bad Bromance - having watched and loved Jack Black in Goosebumps I convinced myself what looked like a terrible film on paper could be good, its not, keep away, keep well away.

- Man From Uncle - truly terrible, avoid.

I saw Where Eagles Dare, yesterday. It was many years since I last saw that movie so it was great to see it again. Awesome war movie :D

Saw Suicide Squad. It's alright. Pretty much your usual superhero kinda thing. Badie turns up, is going to destroy the world, only the main character/hero (plural in this case) can save the day, lots of fight scenes and evil hence men die, hero saves the day. Yawn.
Killed 90 mins though.

Ohh and highlight was most definitely Margo Robbie. Holy good god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Margo Robbie.....The Wolf Of Wall Street.....oh yes

New Point Break, shite. Some great filming in it but a really daft movie. Not a patch on the original.
London has Fallen. Mindless unbelievable shite.
Saw Boys in the Hood again for the first time in 20 years, it's still great.
The Bothers Grimsby, that man has a warped brain. I'll never look at an Elephant the same again! Fun film, not for kids
I enjoyed Ghostbusters with the family. The Kids really enjoyed it.
