Got to dissagree with you there on Adele/Skyfall. Whoever has been telling Skyfall is rubbish? In the Top 3 bond films made Imo. A must see. Granted the Adele song in the film isnt her best. but Rolling in the deep is one of the best songs for many years imo

She's an incredible talent. You compare her voice and vocal delivery to pretty much any other woman in music and she pisses on them. No girating, shouting or warbling every other word like pretty much 99% of female singers. It's refreshing to have someone like her in the industry. I'll take her over that vulgar idiot Beyonce any day.

I'll follow suit, people can have their own opionions but to me Skyfall is up there with the best of Bonds. Great acting, great action and great characters and emptional depth (Not something you normally get with Bond) I also love the Adele track and do think it is up there with the best of the Bond theme tunes. Watch the film, you won't regret it.

Anyway.

Watched a couple yesterday:

Zero Dark Thirty - Nothing revolutionary as a film, Bigalo has already covered similar ground and as a film it plays out as a mixture of Black Hawk Down meets Greenzone meets Hurtlocker with a small dose of Syriana thown in. This by the way is a good thing, the film works and i think because of the subject matter reaches greater levels than if it were just a film about the CIA hunting a fictional terrorist. Anyone watching this will feel something as there is a lot of news footage used. Engaging and watchable but not a stellar peice of film making, be warned the opening scenes are uncofortable to watch.

Gangster Squard - Glossy, lots of fun, historicaly rubbish so just ignor the 'based on real life' rubbish it doesn't come close to the real story. The acting is good but the script is a touch stilted at times. Still Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone - Something for eveyone there :)

I will get round to watching Skyfall and i guess that in context the song will be alright. Casino Royal was the best ever Bond film for me. There isn't anything about it to dislike. The song is great. Leading lady is a bit different to the norm, which is great. DC is a hard edged Bond making a nice change from the last three Nancy boys. The card expert, blood crying villain - great. Stunts were ******* amazing :o Story was pretty good for Bond. What a great film :D

I'm not a huge James Bond fan, you've seen one, you've seen them all!

But Skyfall is a BRILLIANT film. Whoever is telling you it's crap is a ******* muppet. Definitely worth a watch.

In that case I'm kermit, skyfall was gash!

I watched bullet to head and last stand last week. Stallone and Arnie both need to retire!!

Seriously? I really liked it and i'm not a huge James Bond fan. You're not one of these blokes who likes chick flicks and rom coms are you? Lol

Skyfall ..great film :D

Usual Bond stuff to gratify action hounds, great acting by Craig
Also good spin on bond characters origin, good ref to original books

All in all a bloody good watch IMO

Got to admit I don't mind the odd Rom Com either :?

Watching. The impossible this weekend, still have Django to watch

World war z (pronounced zed NOT zee) not bad, typical Hollywood, take a great book, bastardise it, make it all happy clappy, and end up with a film that could have been so much better if they'd left the source material alone!

Not in the same league of disappointments as 'I am legend' but it could have been so much better

Just watched Warm Bodies. Odd sort of zombie flick but the box describes it as charming and for once the marketing sorts have it spot on, it was charming and sweet, not quite as funny as it was billed but enjoyable.

Superman - Man Of Steel 3D

Thought it was pretty ***** to be honest. Just didn't feel like a Superman movie, and to top it all no Superman Theme and no kiss curl so it wasn't frikkin Superman!

Just finished watching Babylon 5 & really enjoyed it, season 1 is a little slow to get started & season 5 is a bit of a let down but 2 to 4 are really good, just started on Crusade, only 1 episode in & its not looking promising.

Thought Hansel and Gretel was *****, was looking forward to it though, my neighbouring towns up and coming director/writer made it,
been alot of media attention for him, going to Hollywood to make it.
Reminded me of Van Helsing, a half hearted fantasy/action flick....
Check out Dead Snow, by the same writer/director, not a bad movie to be norwegian, and phantom on here plays a zombie in it! :P

Really enjoyed it! ...........................................and it confirmed that i'd knock Gemma Arterton

Took the boy to the cinema for the first time today to see Despicable Me 2. Although he's 2 and a half, he loved it though he was a bit of a fidget! I actually enjoyed it as well!
