In Time - great idea behind it, all humans are genetically engineered to only reach 25 years of age & then stop ageing so you stay 25 forever, trouble is then you only get another year to live & have to buy time but working for it, great concept & could have been one of the best new si fi in decades, sadly it is a little limited as they rushed through it & bit, still a great watch that had me hooked, but such a shame as they could have made so much more out of it, but ain't that the story with 99% of modern films

So true. A brilliant idea poorly executed. And the bit at the end where they have millions of "days/years" which they have stolen from banks and the rich and give it ALL away only leaving themselves half an hour to get to where they're going (or they DIE!) was just a tiny bit implausible.

Be a great one to see re made properly init as I thought the concept was outstanding, have you seen event horizon?, an old one but pretty cool, always reminds me of my all time favourite movie, that being forbidden planet which IMO rocks to this day & through all time!!

feel same bout in time plus same could be said bout 1000 words with eddie murphy .just doesnt reach its potential ,still ok to watch and one scene will make ye piss ye pants

Yeah i thought Sucker Punch was fairly awful. Really shallow writing and filled with nonsense. It's a visual and directorial mess. I can imagine 15-17 year olds thinking it's awesome but anyone with a fully developed brain is going to struggle to find much at all to like about it. Except the pretty girls.

It promised so much Pete. The girls however, were mighty fine. The film could have been good. It reminded me a little of a poor mix of Kill Bill meets shutter island.
I dont know if I need to talk my wife in dressing up as Leia in a gold bikini, or baby doll? :?

Ok the old classic " The Thing" is a classic but just watched the newer one again and although it's very much like the first it's a bloody good film

^ just finished watching headhunters at the weekend, it was ok, a few moments were gripping but as the source material is weak anyway that left the film light in that area. Also thought Nikolaj Coster-Waldau was waisted in that role.

Also watched Gone at weekend, total rubbish, 2 hours of my life I won't get back again, for a film with an interesting hook it failed to deliver in every area.

Watched the best exotic marigold hotel as well, and as you would expect a lovely 'British' film packed with exceptional talent, well worth a watch.

Last one, which is so mentioned already but afterv2 months finally got to the IMAX to see the Dark Knight Rises - truly awesome. Perfect almost.

Just finished watching Lockout, special effects are on a budget and the plot is, well, if I find it I'll let you know, but it is big, loud and totally silly, guy pearce seems to be having a ball in the roll, plus it is a nice short film. Check brain at door, relax and enjoy, total fun.

Ghost rider 2 was utter crap I agree, but cage has been in some great films too, I.e Face off, con air and one of my favourites " the rock" and tbh Drive angry wasn't that bad and there were some nice tits in it.

Cage is one of my favorite actors. Face off and Con air were quality. 8MM, the rock, gone in 60 seconds and kiss of death were all good too.

I think he misses more than almost any other actor but he has also been in some classics. Leaving Las Vegas, Face/Off & Adaptation are some of his best. Con Air and The Rock are awesome too.

To be fair I do like Nick Cage as an actor. Growing up on Con Air and the Rock, Gone in 60 seconds etc, these were great action films, oh Face Off as well, loved that, snake eyes wasn't bad and obviously Leaving Las Vegas was a great film, but I think that was all made during one phase of his career and other than maybe Lord of War not too much quality has turned up of late. Well Kick ass obviously but he was in that rather than the star of that, interesting to see how they will bring him back from the dead for the sequel.
He is a real hit and miss actor, mostly as I think he has a crack at anything which means there are very few middle of the road efforts with him.

Watched the remake of Bad Lieutenant not too long ago and thought he wasn't bad in that either.

Hmm, that's not gonna be easy. Especially not without spoiling it. It's a fairly complex, convoluted and at times surreal film. It's written by the Charlie Kaufman who also wrote the brilliant Being John Malcovic and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Both awesome films in their own right but for me, this is his best work and he deservedly won the Oscar for best adapted screenplay. I'd like to tell you one of my favourite Oscar facts about this particular Oscar which makes it unique from any other Oscar but i can't without spoiling it. :wink:
In my book this is one of the best screenplays ever written in terms of originality, cleverness and mind-blowing complexity.
Do watch it and let me know what you think. I warn you, whilst half those who see it rate it as one of the best films of the last decade (at least) others just don't get it. But then all Charlie Kaufman's films are like that.

I think Inception is the most underwhelming film I've ever seen. Amazing special effects, but the plot was just garbage. It makes no sense what-so-ever. It's one of those films were they try and make it so ultra complex that people get confused and the producers/director hope they will be too embarrassed to slag it off for fear of others laughing at them for 'not understanding it'. When in fact it's just ****. The two latter Matrix films were the same, except everyone saw them for what they were.
