Very nice pailoty mate.

Congrats. I had an opportunity to get a near mint chewie palitoy 12 back a few months back but the funds just would not stretch that far.

Steve

Congrats on the Palitoy C3PO, The Palitoy's are expensive, but i dont think you can beat the red and Blue Palitoy logo especially on the 12 backs and the 30 back B's.

Steve: The Chewie is probably the hardest Palitoy 12 back to get, it took me 9 years to find one.

Yeah, but the missus has just seen what's been clocked up on the bay over the last month!!!!!

She was not happy, that doesn't even show what I've been buying off RS and here :? :?

I need to sell off some stuff

Dont take any flack off the other half. Dont sell unless you have to!!..

I don't completely disagree but you have to have some limits with your collection if you are in a long term relationship / married and especially with kids.

Unless of course money grows out of your arse then you can do whatever the hell you want, but if like 99.9% of us it doesn't then it doesn't pay to spend everything on toys ;)

Collecting is great if you have the support of your other half but you should always remember where the lines are, it's all too easy to forget and go a bit overboard.

I say, weigh up your priorities and balance them as best you can, I would rather sell some plastic than disagree and argue with the people I care about over my collection every day, I think that would put a strain not only on my relationship but on enjoying my collection as well..

our lass sees what i sell them for and thinks im well rich...she doesnt see what i spend :)

But i put aside a set amount and buy/sell so i can afford my stuff without compromising our family life.

If it did come to the crunch and i had to sell its safe to say that we are all investing our money in stuff that has a better intrest rate than an ISA currently though :)

I agree with you Joe mate.

I knew I had spent too much recently and this was a bit of a reality check.

She's fine really, I have a load of stuff lined up to sell, I just need to get off my arse and get it on the Bay.

I have read far too many posts on RS to the tune of .....

"OMG If a girl didn't let me collect ..."

"We argued over my collection , so she had to go..."

"I could never be with someone who didn't support my hobby.."

"If she can't respect your toys you should get rid of her.."

I can't see the sense of those kinds of responses to be honest and I can't imagine any of those people ever actually having a partner :|

When I got married I didn't have a pot to piss in , sold my collection without a single regret or second thought !

I think the only thing that I have ever got it in the neck for was being on the forums too much! Which of course she was right about

Anyway, off to have some food with my lovely wife! (and beer)

To most of the outside world we all look like we are waisting our money. We see beautiful MOCs and other people see a piece of cardboard with a shite plastic figure stuck to it. The few friends I have that have seen some of my items always piss them selves with laughter when they ask what things cost. Its hard for people outside the hobby to understand.

I dont give a **** tho, I tell them im not pissing it up against a wall or smoking it in a crack pipe.

Grant.

Well said grant. I have the same witha few of my friends and my parents.

I enjoy my collecting for my own private reasons and i guess i fall into the same trap as some and spend too much monety ever so often. The one thing i find strange is i may not buy anything expensive for some time and then loads of items become available at the same time.

Steve

That's what's happened to me recently Steve.

I didn't buy any vintage for months, I picked up some Lego, but no vintage
and then in the last few weeks I've bought quite a few pieces.
