good tip on the lamps Pete, I might have to get me some of those :D

they are good - halogens give off a orangey light tho... so u have to set your camera to incandesent or everything will have an orange wash to it

another tip i read is to buy repalcement halogen strips for them but buy the BLUE ones - they are daylight bulbs and will neutralise the orangness :)

my cam does the white balance quite well on incandesent anyways so ill only get these blue bulbs if and when the ones i have blow

the get HOT tho indoors!

What kind of bulbs do the professional photographers use?

I tried a couple of desk lamps with either 60W or 100W bulbs and it didn't seem to be much better than no lamps at all

Desk lamps work fine with daylight (and coloured lights) but best use with something to difuse the light
This was taken with 2 daylight lamps

Diffused with a light tent -basically a cloth box with the item sitting inside,
Bulbs are 60w daylights.

I also use various coloured bulbs

the light looks nice and soft on the predator - i think i need a box now!

it will take the harsh light off it
