More great items, ESB palitoy cards are the ones I most identify with as it's what I remember from being a kid and that darth is awesome!
More never seen before items from you Andy! Amazing that you can collect for pretty much your whole life and still see new items all the time in this thread!
Blue Sabre's were replaced by the green ones very early in production so was very surprised to see it on a 65c card.

Superb Special Buy items! That Ewok was the last SW I saw on a shelf anywhere: bargain shop in Holyhead in the mid 90s! Even though I was collecting SW it was not my thing and the guy had it up for a tenner. Passed it up but regret it now for what it would have represented as much as anything.
Biggest shout out goes to Jez and an epic update! That must have taken an hour. Proper commitment to the forum and the podcast there, mate, nice one

So over the 4th of July weekend, I had 4 days off and decided to venture south (I live in NW Oregon) and head to the California Redwoods. I've made several trips down there over the years as I absolutely love it. Obviously we all know that the Endor scenes were filmed in that area, but in all the trips I've made I never took the time to try to locate the filming location of the Speeder Bike chase. Well, this time I was determined to find it and see some of that iconic imagery from ROTJ.
After making it down that way and having to sleep in my truck as all of the hotels were sold out due to the holiday weekend (not very smart planning on my part, but I like to do things on a whim), my daughters and I arrived in the area where it was filmed. I ended up pulling off and asking a couple very helpful locals and was able to find the spot!
We arrived about 3:00 in the afternoon and it was sunny and about 65 degrees. Absolutely perfect weather. The grove sits right next to the river and there were several vehicles there, but they must have all been down by the river. My daughters and I had the entire trail to ourselves! We spent a little over an hour just walking around. I did get some screen grabs on my phone ahead of time (no cell reception) so I could try to match the locations. It looks very similar to what it did back in 1983 and I could darn near hear the Speeder Bikes screaming through the trees. It was incredible being transported into Endor for an hour and I tried my best to take it all in. I could have spent the rest of the evening there, but I don't think my kids would have appreciated that.
Anyway, you may ask why I'm writing this in the New Acquisitions thread. While I was there, I decided it would be neat to have a small memento to take home. The large tree across the trail (the one that Luke and Leia go under) has bark that is very rotten and virtually falling off in places. I grabbed a couple small pieces of bark to bring home. The two smaller trees that are crossed are still very solid, so I simply grabbed a small piece of moss off of one of them.
Unfortunately, the other scenes with actors, explosions, etc were filmed on private land that is not accessible to the public. Even if it was, it would be unrecognizable as that area was completely logged shortly after filming completed. It's a shame, but I'm glad us fans can still go and see where the Biker Scout Chase footage was shot.
I also put some additional pictures over in my showcase thread in case anyone is interested. My ugly mug is in a couple of the shots, so you have been warned.

Great story Jason and I live in NW Portland so should really make the trip myself as I haven't ever managed to even visit the redwoods yet. Nice to think it was all filmed so close and there was a moment the other week where it looked like they were looking for extras in this area for Ep 9 but it all turned out to be something of nothing

Wow what a great thing to have Seahawks that's just amazing, I just cannot simply believe that fallen tree is still actually there and even in the same position.
Here is my latest acquisition this week, my older brother had this back in the day but it ended up technically being a 'family' toy that we all played with, it was the main Star Wars toy that was played with in the back garden, all covered in dusty dirt and mud etc, good times!. One day my mate came over to play and we got out all the SW toys in the garden and somehow he managed to completely break off one of the legs at the knee joint ( **** you Wayne! ), this day has been talked about so many times within our family it's become family legend, whenever AT-AT's are mentioned.
So after all these years iv'e finally replaced it and the family have loved looking at this toy again as it brings back some great & funny memories. It's in near mint & complete condition with all original stickers and chin guns, I just need to re-stick down a couple of curled up stickers and get the peroxide cream on the canopy, top parts of the legs and the chin guns to get rid of the slight yellowing and it'll be brand spanking new again.

Thank guys! It was the first time I've visited a SW film location and was definitely a lot of fun.
Ian, that's awesome to hear of another Oregon SW collector. Wish we had a local group in the area. Would be fun to meet up one of these days.

Billy doesn't have the best rep when you read the comments but I've got to know him over the past few years and always have a great chat with him about vintage SW. He has an amazing collection of rare pieces and possibly the best LJN Dungeon and Dragons collection I've ever seen with all sorts of prototypes and original artwork. It really is such a joy to go in there and look at all the vintage goodness and I quite often walk out of there with another new focus :lol:

Nice transition cardback. Only saw the front sticker second time round. Quality.
Here's a set of stickers I'd never seen before. Found them on eBay and having dropped the seller a few message sfound out only a little bit more on them. Apparently they were promotional items given away at Dutch "Satin" book stores for a short period of time. There were 6 stickers in the set and are actually woven nylon stickers rather than paper. That's all I could find out.
Given the condition and the fact the seller listed up another set straight away I'd say there's been a new old stock discovery of these. I think they look fantastic. If anyone wants a set the current listing is : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263075539449
