Latest Acquisitions

Finally bought a Vintage Rancor monster from Ebay, that will look good with my Jabba's palace ROTJ vintage diorama.

Managed to work a 3 way trade for this and it finally turned up a couple of days ago.

POTF hand cut proof card for unproduced Imperial Hoth Stormtrooper.

Amazing

In the last 20 years I can count the times I've found vintage SW at car boot sales on two hands. Most of the time it's a couple of figures or, on a couple of ocassions, a Falcon. But this has to be my bestest find ever. I'm so thrilled with it. It was on the stall of a trader who I've seen at the boot sales ever since I moved down here 5 years ago. He usually has the same old tat week in week out. This was from a sundry lot at an auction house. The other toys were of no interest to me but this guy was propped up against them and I must have seen him from a dozen feet away. The tape has been cut but you can see it's his original bag by the positioning of the remains of the tape. The baggie is in great condition as is R5. Jim W pointed out it's a 1977 COO which is great as I didn't have one and this is a "proper" variant. He cost me £2. I didn't feel it right to haggle.

Brilliant detective work Ponch- a great find.

Absolutely lovely proof there Oli

Simon, that is brilliant! Awesome that things still turn up in the wild from time to time 8)

Hey guys. This is my first post in the Swf.uk forum, but have been lurking around for awhile. I'm an avid listener to the Vintage Rebellion podcast, which is where I learned about the latest acquisitions section of the forum.

I recently completed my ultimate SW collecting goal. Only took me 18 years to finish this run, but finally got the first 12 on that beautiful SW cardback. Several have issues (pop's cut, bubble damage, etc), but all are factory sealed. With that said, they don't look too shabby in my new acrylic cases I just received from Iain over at GW Acrylics. I'm very stoked and thought I would share my own since I really enjoy seeing everyone else's. :)

Thanks,
Jason

Great run, Jason and nice way to break on to the forum too :) Those certainly don't look to shabby from here. Get yourself a limelight thread going here:

That was we can follow as your collection grows. It's a great place for sharing your collection and also getting inspiration from other collector's too in terms of display techniques and ideas.

Jason - I love that picture and as I said in my post on FB - I love collections like this as they mean far more than just the random pictures of AFA85s - congrats on completing the set and it was a pleasure dealing with you

Hope you stay about on here as well - it is a great place to discuss all things vintage and we need more US member to keep the conversations going when all our UK chums fall asleep (at the moment it is mainly me and Todd!)

In addition to the variants, focus items, props, etc., occasionally grabbing some bits and bobs to backfill the few remaining gaps in my collection or to add boxes to some I only had loose. Pleased to add this Pali Droid Factory with blue base, missing the R2 and not the best box in the world, but for 75 quid I ain't complaining !! :)

Been looking to get this for a while now for my Greedo focus. 20 back Greedo in gorgeous condition. Thanks to Hoth Ice Planet on the forum who let me go and collect yesterday too. Fits in so nicely, I box up so much stuff without photographing always forget to add purchases on here but this one is on display in my front room so can actually get to it.

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas. I'll be sure to check out the limelight thread and get one started. Also good to know us Yanks are welcome here too. :)

I need to say a massive thank you to Edd, first of all for all of the hard work he puts into running such a great forum and secondly for the lovely prize I won in his recent competition.
Arrived safe and sound today and its great.
I've got a random shelf in one of my cabinets with Ewok/Endor boxed items and he fits in great with them. Wasn't really sure where I was going to put him so I'm really chuffed I've found him a suitable home :D

Quality MOC there Max 8) I like the way the Palitoy Luke Bespin is casually underneath, just lying there :D

Beautiful Meccano Vader. Very envious.
I've never collected foreign SW items before, but this one would definitely top my list. Congrats Max!
