That 3PO case full of baggies is one of the coolest things I've ever seen! 8) what's the story behind it?

Great way to start the weekend with the arrival of this MIB ESB large Chewbacca. Box has seen better day and has some water damage but contents is unused.

The box it sealed with tape at the top and un taped at the bottom. It looks to have been on sale in TSS (Time Square Store in NY) back in the day and was found recently on eBay / in a Pawn store also in NY.

No end of vintage loveliness here - loving the meccano Leia

I can't see he baggies either? But I've seen them elsewhere and James - Chewie looks pretty minty from here

Some great stuff being shown in this LA thread, love it keep it up guys.
I myself have received some vintage goodies but as they are only loose figures I didn't think they warranted a post on here.

Its all worth posting mate. This thread is not the Facebook dick swinging contest. You learn a lot about people by what they are collecting, and you will never know when something will pop up you might like, and because people have been seeing what you are buying they can send you in the right direction.

Thanks for that, didn't realise I needed to copy and paste. Some great pics though and I thought the figures in the 3PO case were just in zip lock bags until I looked a bit closer

One thing I did think of though was I remember reading on various posts about not keeping figures in plastic zip lock bags unless you put a hole in them so that air can get in there. There were some horror stories of figures changing colour ect and for for this reason I changed my storage methods to using acid free paper bags. Just wondered if any baggie collectors have ever had any problem with their figures degrading due to being kept in sealed bags?

Now that would be a funny thread.

Stella stuff on here today. 8)

Had Rich Temple (djbighair) come and pay me a visit. Now.... considering I don't collect MOC, don't really like graded items, don't collect foreign items or anything newer than 1985, this is what I ended up with!!

A graded Glasslite Droid R2 MOC, LL CCP overstock parts, a CCP Comm Link, a one colour emblem DSC variant & a Slave Leia fridge magnet. (Plus a POTF R2 card back & coin not in photo)

Love them all and well happy. Rich is a true legend.

My little Pop Up R2 focus is coming along nicely now. If anyone has anything I need, be it carded, loose or coin related, please let me know.

Just acquired this nice little selection of baggies, 42 in total that have sat in a loft for 30 years after coming directly out of the Palitoy Factory and stored in a C3Po case. These are unopened and have been sat in storage for all of these years.

More pics please

Story first. Condition in a mo.

I happened to have a chance to meet with someone who had some carded star wars figures and was given there number. They had been in the loft for thirty year's and came directly from the Palitoy factory. After receiving images of the card's and agreeing a price on the phone it was mentioned that they had more star war's stuff in the loft. When I went to collect the card's I was hoping a loft visit might happen and was trying to gauge what they had. It was mentioned there was some boxed ships in there but after a lengthy time of chatting it was clear he wasn't about to go up there. He then mentioned he had this robot head with figure's in and he got them for his boy to play with but they weren't interested, so he went to the bedroom to fetch it. When he opened it, we'll **** me. Well the card's all of a sudden became insignificant and after more lengthy discussions about everything and anything I put a bid in for them. Well Mr hoarder wasn't about to do anything yet as he has had them for 30 year's and was happy to wait. Two days of cat and mouse negotiations later and bingo. Got him hooked and parted with a small fortune but not a kings ransom. He shared many a story about the Palitoy factory. Discussed the redundancies and even stories about skip lorries carting toys off to landfill where locals could readily go there at night and pick them up. Apparently the M42 runs across the site now.

As for the condition. I will need to study them in a much greater detail but Ben has a frosted arm and Luke Hoth has a pinking torso but the rest on initial inspection seem like new. Maybe it depends on what bag they were put in.

Laurence i missed your post prior to my update. Bloody awesome mate, really cool.
So many sweet baggies that don't come up often. Are you keeping them together?

Some lovely items finding their way into this thread of late, big congrats on your find laurence - look forward to reading/seeing more!

Love the Droids R2 something about those cards that's really appealing and I don't know why!...

Leia Magnate ain't too bad either been wanting to buy a SDCC slave Leia promo card for ahile but hate the fact that it's nearly twice the price just for postage, bloody Murica!...

Great story Lawrence and the thought of skip lorries dumping stuff is mind boggling!

Absolutely delighted with the job the framer has done with my Tween Anaheim prints. The colours match perfectly and they go really well with my other 2.

Tween is by far my favourite Star Wars artist (living).

Now I've got to figure out where they go in the Star Wars room!

That C3PO head is an amazing find and some of those baggies looks to be in fantastic shape

I recently got lucky on the Dewey Shumate auction - was keen to pick up the CCP with the prototype weapons but that went too high for me - I had a bid in for the loose figures - mainly because I thought they would be a cool addition given their providence - when they arrived I noticed some cross-hatching on the C3POs leg - spoke to a couple of guys on RS and it turns out that this is likely to have been have been a 'chrome test' peice

There is loads of info an pictures here so won't crowd up this thread - http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1120900-8/#post19612769

This is the auction

And this is the piece

I picked up some other bits and pieces but the other exciting set of items were these remote R2's - Tom Derby couldn't authenticate them but coming from this source and marked in sharpie then I am sure that they were some sort of test piece

Can't believe some of the items people have been picking up of late- absolutely stunning! This thread is the gift that keeps on giving!

Collected this little guy tonight 8) Many thanks to Chris Ball for helping get him. Dead chuffed with this- something I thought I'd never own. Has a tiny nick in the cape under one of the arms, but otherwise in very good nick :)

Will get some better pics sorted for my limelight thread ;)
