Ian

Thanks, glad you said that Ian. Moved recently and figures dropped the odd weapon. Wasn't happy with how I put one or two back together and that confirms my fears. I'll check some photos online and swap some around. I reckon I've got another wrong in there somewhere.

EDIT sorted! Black Bespin Guard had nicked a blaster.

I love it when people post latest acquisitions after we have covered a particular genre of collecting or something with a guest on the podcast, so here is my contribution. Following on from Joes interview, I picked these beauties up.

The Stormy and Vader are in great shape. Both are made in Hong Kong. Im a big fan of the alternate photos so its great to pick up the Stormy and Han.

The Han I have been after for a while at a good price so I was thrilled to pick this example up, however this one is made in China, which I assume is the Meccano factory as he is in one of the small square bubbles and in transit, this happened:

I am gutted. It looks like he has moved in the bubble and stamped the crack.

Couple of questions and opinions. Firstly, the seller and I have agreed a partial refund. It was unfortunate for the both of us and he was very good in sorting this out. Could I ask what people think he is now worth? Secondly, he displays really well, but I am really worried about him coming out of the bubble proper, so I was considering reinforcing the base of the bubble with a piece of clear tape. Whats the consensus with this.

Shame about the Han mate :( Usually the small bubble German Han variants sell for anywhere from £90-140...I guess it's probably worth about £50-60 at best now. If the crack gets worse then it could only be one more trip away from popping out which is always in the back of any buyers mind sadly.

Still a cracking (sorry!) haul, nice to see some more Trilogos in here :D

Cheers Joe,

Im not going to sell it as theres no way it will survive another posting and I think it will display fine next to my 20 back. I was just curious from the point of the view of the original cost and the refund. Do you think I would take from the MOC or really detract from the value if I used tape to stop the crack getting worse? I was thinking a strip cut to the size and dimensions of the bottom face of the bubble of a quality clear tape.

I have done this with my Imperial Gunner and it looks fine. Good idea I think if you have no plans to sell.
