Car boots and charity shops are treasur troves for collecting expensive stuff! I've been meaning to scout round again.

My aunt got me a book I have been wanting for years to read... hardback 1st edition... 50p from a charity shop... and it is worth £75

Wow, very nice bargain indeed. According to the '2005 Action Figure Price Guide,' he's worth about £25 loose!

I wouldn't put too much trust in that price guide if I were you. Those prices are not really accurate. Better to watch completed eBay auctions for a general idea on prices. Anakins for instance are worth nowhere near £25. I'd say maybe around £10 for a minty one, maybe even less.

Ah, thanks for the tip. Still, the book is quite good for a check list. I've been using it to tick of the vintage figures I've got lately.

But yeah, looking on eBay now I just found an Anakin for £7.99.

Yeah the book is way off and the market fluctuates dramatically from month to month. If you think something's overpriced just ask on here. You should be able to pick up an Anakin for uner a tenner.
:)

where do you find bargains like Yaks for 7 quid??? Is this a car boot find?

Not a car boot find but i have been lucky with them in the past the £1.95 Anakin was just badly described in its title. for example search yak head, not face and you might get lucky.

But my yak was just sitting there as a "last 17 yak face c7" and no one was bidding, starting price €4 , then one bid came in , i waited till the last few seconds and threw in a max bid of €8 euro. after a few attempts the other bidder stopped pushing and it was all over bar the shouting.

cheap yak.

Got these at a local toy fair in Harrogate this morning.....

Sadly a little window opening on the back, but for £20 I felt it worth buying. I recall reading the Power Droid on a Palitoy card is extremely hard to find.

Nice Palitoy! I recently got this Popy Luke Farmboy in Japan. He has been opened, but is complete with leaflets and original sabre. It worked out at £43. I know he is not sealed, but I thought it was a good price.

nice Jap luke (popy?) ,, and the toyfair MOC haul is nice too , i like the AT AT commander.
We dont have toyfairs over here must be a british thing. I would love to root around one.

Thanks for the comments. I got it in Osaka. It was in a shop called Mandarake. Basically toys, manga, computer games etc. Collectors paradise!!

Great buys chaps - the Power Droid is a steal as recently even resealed figs have been hitting £50 plus
