Latest Acquisitions

Ive never dealt with him but I must say that he has some lovely items. If I were you feel strongly that you would like the MOC from the image then perhaps raise the point politely. Im sure he will understand.

He has a very good rep Ham and i don't think it's an intentionally deceptive act but it is wrong. He should have at least sent you pics. If i were you i'd write to him and ask if it can be swapped as it a)isn't C9 in you opinion and b) isn't the one pictured which is what you were hoping.
Worth a try at least.
If you payed top dollar, you are entitled.

No go Pete. He replied...

"Ive sent you a 9+ example- c9+ is not mint and will show some imperfections thats why its graded c9+ and not c9.5 or mint- not all the pics on the site are of the exact figure but i send out the equivalent grade - the example pictured on the website had some imperfections to the bubble and was graded as such. I no longer have that one and youve been sent one of equivalent grade thanks toni"

Thats the last time I buy off him.

Hey, look. At least you said your piece. It's a quality MOC and he's taking the piss a little not ending out the item pictured but he's not totally off point. The items are of a very close if not identical quality. On top of that MOCs have the tendency to look better on pics. I'd just take this one as a lesson learnt as it's so minimal and not worth getting your self worked up over.
Don't get ,me wrong he's totally in the wrong as especially with vintage SW the slightest flaw can mean everything which is why buyers demand exact and specific pictures and descriptions of items for sale and he should know that as well as anyone. As we've seen AFA would judge one thing 80 and one 85 for seemingly tiny differences.

I would say to anyone buying from TT, ask for pics of the exact item being sent.

Pete, my R2 has dings on every corner and a tiny one on the top right front... looking as that stock pic it has none and certainly wouldn't classify mine as a C9+ or a C9!

Well if you're that unhappy with it send it back and wait for a better one to come along. I can't examine it so don't know what i would give but it's all to do with how happy you're going to be with it.
BIt of a shame as he has a few tri's i have my eye on but i am as fussy as you mate. I don't mind the odd dings on tri's if i'm getting them cheap but when i'm paying top dollar (or for something advertised as condition 9) i expect the very best.

Exactly. I'm not gonna be out of pocket for this and dont know if he's gonna refund the full amount + postage. I cant be bothered with it all now. It's f**ked me off and feel like I've been con'd. It's a headache and to be honest the guy doesn't seem that friendly. I asked him questions to which he avoided like does it come shipped in a star case!

Ham, sounds like you got the shitty end of the stick mate. I think his attitude is terrible. If your not happy with the item the seller should refund no questions asked. As Pete said using file photos is dodgy ground...I've seen a few eBay auctions with file/ library pictures, scam written all over it. I think he should pay all the costs as he is in the wrong. All that said it is still a nice item mate, but as you are paying top money you should get top condition and top service. Have you had either of those?
I have been tempted by some of his items but I think i will give him a wide berth. Shame coz I understand he has several cases of Meccano jawas..... I would love to know where he gets his stock from? He must have an amazing contact somewhere.

Mate I got neither. No real helpful friendly service and definately not the tri I thought I was getting, specially with a bloody ding in every corner!

If you spent big bucks on it and your not happy then you have to ask for your money back mate. Email him asking about his returns policy :?:

nice R2 Ham, but you're right to be miffed

It would make me think twice about buying from Toy Tony - a C9 is mint in anyone's book

This highlights the problem of subjective grading, to me if I was buying a c9+ I would expect it to be case fresh and virtually flawless. A dented bubble, even on a Tri logo isn't a small imperfection. The c scale needs to be accompanied with detailed pictures. Pictures of the item your actually buying. Not pictures of another item, that your not buying!!! We all know what a Tri logo r2 looks like, what is the point of file photos. If you have lots of them for sale at once then you should take time to photograph and catalog them individually. It's not like selling DVDs!!!

Completely understand what you mean Ham and i'd be pissed too. I only emailed him the other day asking about one of his items and his reponse was very much to the point and he didn't bother to answer all of the questions I asked! Hope you get it sorted mate if you choose to

Agree with that 100%. He is wrong about C9. C9 to me, most collectors, and the AFA for that matter, means very close to flawless with imperfections only visible at close inspection.
Obvious and multiple flaws brings an item down to C8 at best.

Guys I really appreciate all your comments honestly. he said he's gonna give me a refund but not for the return post and still sticks by that he sent me a C9+. Whatever! I have to send it back first then a refund will be placed.

The days ended well thanks to ChrisJ from TIG for giving his Heatsealed Scouty Baggie a new home, big thanks! :D

**** that ****. Item not as descibed/shown, PP claim and full refund.
Sorry mate, but there's no way in hell that MOC you posted will grade an 80 for the bubble let-alone an 85! Those dings will kill it. Send it back to TT and get your refund.
He's a cheeky bastard!

Ooops missed a few posts.
He's probably fair enough not refunding your postage, he doesn't get that money after all the PO do.
But any seller who posts a description of an item and adds "stock" photos is asking for trouble!
If you're selling something describe it (use that C scale if you must, but its FAR FAR too subjective) and then post some pictures of the ACTUAL item!
