yeah I think it's £20.99 for a vintage figure to be graded. They emailed me and asked if I wanted the star rating on the grading as that they were now phasing them out but are still offered if you want them

Agreed they look much better without the stars.

Spoons i only have 2 graded moc's, 1 afa and 1 ukg.
Both are of the same high quality, but the ukg case is slimmer so imo looks better.

Turn around times at ukg vary, i think it depends on the case supplier altho soon they will be making their own so that should solve that.

Im using them as altho resale price isn't as high as AFA stuff the actual costs involved in grading are much cheaper.

I recently sold my UKG graded baggies and got very good prices for them, better than some AFA graded baggies i have seen on ebay. UKG seem very popular in germany, most of my stuff went there lol.

anyway, i got these 2 in the post today.

Really pleased with them, both were much much better than expected especially the ig88

Looking at the MOCs graded by UK Graders (silver grin) why do the figures only attract 85% when they have not been removed from the card? Why not 100%?

I don't know that much about grading but there could be many reasons for this. Some figures are produced with imperfections in the first place- little scratches, paint spots, poorly applied decals etc etc and this would probably lead to a lower grade. Secondly, figures, believe it or not, can get damaged in the bubble. I have a Dengar with several bits of missing paint which have been rubbed off onto the inside of the bubble. Third, a figure could easily fade or yellow inside a bubble, this could also possibly lead to a lower greade.

Hope that clears it up a bit.

i have talked to steve about this from ukg he is one of my best friends and we chat a few times a week and you are right it is down to the marks picked up from the factory and stuff like that i have a han solo hoth that is a 90 grade but it looks mint and if you look at some figures there ar marks every where when they have been sealed even some u grades can get 80 grade but we dont like them

Pete, my plan was to remove it but i'm not touching it now its stuck too well it will damage the card. Josh, yes mate its a 41 back. lee, the ding is very minor, it looks worse in the pic cus of the beveled edge. It got 85 for card and 90 for figure so overall 85. I think like afa ukg are a bit more forgiving with tri bubbles. Hope this all makes sense im replying from my phone.
