Got this lil fella this morning :-D Did the ol' tape on bubble thing to pop bubble out and worked quite well but still not 100%.

Btw the yellowing on the bubble is no way near as bad as it is in the pics.. thank god!

Del - forgive my ignorance, but what defines the cards as German? Are the backs different?

I have the same Tie Fighter Pilot double stem ESB card. It was the first carded figure I ever bought, long before the days of Ebay. It was sold by KF Collectables (is he still around?) from an ad in Model And Collectors Mart. Case fresh just like that one for £100 - Not sure what they do nowadays, but I would think it's still around that mark?

Sweet figures BTW - the ESB cards are great.

Nice R2 as well Ham. Lots of ESB goodness coming through at the moment.

Thanks Paul, I can't stop bloody gazing at it! :shock: Driving my miss's mad BUT she saw the lil fella along with Warrick and believe it or not wanted me to get one off ebay cos she said they're soooo cute! :lol: so I've got the Warrick and need the R2 now. Shweeet, she's coming round!

My tie pilot is palitoy, it was £90 mate and case fresh.

Karl (K F Collectables) is still around, not sure if he still has a site or not?

Thanks for the info. Yeah, mine is the Palitoy version too. I know the £100 I paid was before the 'net when prices in general were higher, and before everything became so accessible.
Still remains one of my favourite cards.

Ham that R2 is the nuts... I love the ESB R2D2 solid dome combo.... They display so well. It appears Empire cards are very popular atm. Do you lot think this is due to the 30th anniversary, the recent Modern vintage packaging or just because they are timelessly cool?!?!?

lol, Thanks dude. TBH I didn't even know about the 30th Anniversary. I wanted one for ages and always had my eye on the ESB R2 41 'D' as has the blue colours on the reverse and nice touch with just the logo as reds. Love it. been staring at the thing all day! :lol:

Btw dude is it you who does acrylic cases or have I totally got the wrong guy?

I wish I could do them... TBH I looked into going into full scale production as at the time my business was slow. I was looking at competing with Oscars cases, as the shipping makes his quite expensive (From memory I think they are about £18 each based on buying five, could be wrong on those figures) I was fairly sure I could make a profit at knocking them out at £12 plus postage. Then I came across a guy who's doing them for £9 each...... end of idea. Luckily the things have picked up and now we are quite busy. A rarity in the last 18 months

I've had the best week ever, first I won this 12 back Sand People by sending in a vintage picture to Tom at 'I grew up Star Wars' and on the day it arrived I won a £1k spending spree at Tesco's - I'm off to check my Euro Lottery results now
