Latest Acquisitions

I've picked up a few bits over the last 2 or 3 months - AT-AT Drivers of course:

A lovely 47 back off of a fellow forum member - cheers Si for the heads up!

A nice 45A to compliment my 45A proof card.

And finally and without doubt my new favourite piece in my collection - this 48B - nothing out of the ordinary on its own but I love the way that someone in the factory cared enough about aesthetics to place the offer sticker up and out of the way.

Here's my latest. Huge thanks to Rich for finding this piece and agreeing to get it for me. Went out of his way to take loads of photos and ship the figure to me. 8) And as far as I know, this is the first one of this MOC to be found! :D

I wondered if that had your name written on it. 2015 has been a great (and expensive) year for Mr Smith for sure. :D

Congrats on that one.

Well done Gary, nice to see you still picking things up for the Palitoy Museum! Oh and great work Rich, you certainly did find good homes for those figures!

Blimey, that is an unusual sight indeed! Sorry if this has been covered before, but why was the Palitoy logo stopped from appearing on the fronts?

Nice card but what back is it (must admit I don't know the importance of this particular card so appreciate any info.....so much for palifan  )?

It's a 45b Ian! Significant because as far as we know no MOC example has turned up until now :!: :!:

Prob because of no logo the 45b seems to have taken a back seat in the world of Palitoy collecting but some of the rarest Palitoy MOCs r in fact 45bs! This is a massive find for Gary as I believe it completes his LB run 8)

Thanks, Jez.

If I catch more Micro Collection within my price range ( I'm prepared to go unboxed and perhaps slightly incomplete on these ) then I'd love some more, especially Bespin.

I've always had a hankering for them since I saw them in the old Kenner booklets. Mainly because they covered scenes not available in the regular range.

Yes this is correct. In fact until very recently it was only assumed that this MOC existed, we didn't know for sure as not even a cardback had surfaced. Jason found one last year I think?

As for the logo disappearing, this begins at the 45b. I remember reading somewhere that this was done because the card design was used across Europe and Palitoy was a bit too UK...with the red white and blue!

But I don't know how true this is.

It's sad that it went, but it does give another card Variation i.e. the 45b which is essentially all the 45a characters on a non logo card. I can't think of anything that appears on the B that doesn't on the a...with maybe Zuckuss as the only one....though technically that's on a clipper with a Palitoy sticker on the back!

I like the 45b Card, in some ways I think it looks nicer than the 45b, as you get the entire picture
