2 new figures for me today, my first ebay purchases in ages!

first up a ROTJ original leia. this was one of the holy grail figures ten years ago so it's nice to have one. another victim of the AFA random label generator, it got a 60 overall and there's no way it's that bad! got it nice and cheap because of that though

and secondly, another 31 back luke bespin. it's not quite as nice as my old one so might sell it if the price is right. i can never have too many though :lol:

Nice figures Ed, the Leia looks much better than a 60, what sub dragged it down? The card, bubble and figure all look fine!

honestly mate i am losing my faith in AFA more by the day. the card scored a 60, which looks more like a 75 to me. i have 80's that are worse.
the bubble got an 80 despite having a dent on one corner. and the figure got an 85 even though it has grubby marks on it! :lol:

i swear to god they don't even look at things and just slect grades at random. it's a joke, i'd be well pissed if i'd sent it off for grading myself.

There are some strange grades out there I'll give you that. I definately have a few that "only" graded 80 yet are in better nick than some 85's!

It might be worth taking it out of the AFA casing and re-submitting it then. If it comes back an 80 you could well double your money if you resold it.

This is probably gonna start some of the AFA haters off on a rant now! :lol:

it's weird, despite being 5 years newer i think the skiff and it's packaging look far more dated than the turret (in terms of design, not just condition.)

i was just about to ask whether u had sent it off yourself, what about the rotj fett you got for 150, was that already graded or did you send that off ?

i've never sent anything off to AFA myself, as it costs too much IMO. it is a money making scheme, not a service to fellow collectors. i would love to start up a free service where people just pay the cost of postage and materials (about Ã'£2 :lol: )

i only buy graded stuff if it's cheap as well, would much rather pay less and have it ungraded.
