Just received this publication today, I was completely unaware of its existence until last week! With having a graphic design background, I was immediately immersed in the pages showing proofs and concepts through to the final cardback product. A fascinating insight in to such globally recognisable toy packaging. I'm sure you're all well aware of this fine book, but to me- this is what keeps me coming back to vintage Star Wars…. 50 years on, there's always something new to discover on a personal level!!

Here's a buyer's tale to make you chuckle… I got a good deal on a Palitoy 70 back Biker Scout last week through a seller on eBay.

A few creases to the card, a couple of dings to the top of the bubble, but the plastic was clear and sealed perfectly to the cardboard with a bright white Scout figure contained within.

Great communication with the seller, and sure enough the package arrived swiftly via tracked Royal Mail a couple of days later.

I was a little confused upon receiving at how flat the package was… tracking numbers corresponded from eBay to Royal Mail when I checked, and the app told me that my TriLogo Biker Scout had been successfully delivered.

What I received was a pair of verruca socks. I haven't needed a pair of those since I was 8 years old!!! And I certainly wouldn't have paid £190 for them!!

Swift communication ensued between myself and the seller, the poor guy couldn't apologise enough… there was clearly a mix up with the postage labels. He made enquiries, and he was gutted to find out my Biker Scout had been sent to an Amazon warehouse returns depot.

He actioned a refund right away which I was grateful for, and I asked him to message me if (but more hopefully when) he had the MOC returned to him.

Today, one day later, I received the Trilogo Biker Scout perfectly packaged, double boxed. I can only summise that two labels the same were generated for the two parcels. I was overjoyed to see that it hadn't been lost to the depths of an Amazon returns department.

Back and forth messages to let the seller know I had finally received it and that I would return refunded monies.

A good outcome, it's made me appreciate this fine TriLogo all the more.

And yes, I'll also be returning the verruca socks to the guy!!

Cool that I am not the only price sticker collector, do you have many items with the price stickers that you want ?
It's early days regarding price sticker collecting for me, Lars… but I'm already hooked! Back when I was collecting vintage in the 2010s I always dismissed stickered product, I wanted my MOCs as mint as possible. Now that I'm a lot older and perhaps a little wiser, I've come to appreciate the historical context they contain.

I even love the fact that someone over the decades tried to remove the 'Sale Price 75p' on the Imperial Stormtrooper… they clearly gave up pretty quick. That glue wasn't made to shift!!

I'd like to keep to British pounds and pence for my collection, but I do like the 79 cents price sticker on the Palitoy TriLogo that I received on my Biker Scout today: clearly this was European overstock that was sent across the Atlantic to be sold off in bargain bins mid-1980s at Kay-Bee (which I think became Toys R Us?). By that token it's nice to bring it back home to Europe and indeed England!!

Great story mate. Thanks for sharing.

No need for a new thread as I think I've polluted this one with a few non-SW toys over the years - and it is vintage..... Never owned before and this one needs a few bits finding to make complete - but overall decent enough - showing its age in the chrome - now only Razorback and Meteor to go and that is Series 1, 2 & 3 complete (and me done with that before prices go bonkers thanks to the new reissued toys and upcoming comics and ever present movie talk...)

Today I got this danish toy store catalog with the mail that I won on auction. It is from a danish toy store that I have never heard about before. It is called Absalon - Godthaab and they had 2 shop in copenhagen in the 80s that was selling star wars toy. The shops closed in 2004 😭 The catalog are from christmas 1983 and there are 26 pages with toy in it and on the last page there are star wars toy.
It is the earliest toy catalog I have found from denmark with star wars toy in it. Denmark was very slow with getting star wars toy to denmark. I have no idea if there was sold star wars toy in denmark from 1977 to 1982 but I still think some shops had star wars toy before 1983 but I have not found any proof yet or heard about it from other danes yet.

Nice one Lars

I got this little lot today. Cardback are with a danish price sticker for my danish price sticker focus. I did not know this toy shop so this is my first price sticker from that shop. Legeland are the shop called and it is still open, placed in a little town called Horsens in the other part of the country far away from me, I read on the internet it is a shop from 1979. I also got a complete figure with the cardback, seller had been writing in the auction that it was in super condition but as you can see on the nose it is not mint, there was also pictures of it but I was more looking at the cardback since I have the figure
