I missed the Arsenal United game (thank ****), but from what I've heard over the two legs United fully deserved to go through.
As for last night, great game for the neutral. Heart breaking for Chelsea. I actually felt sorry for them, then I remembered they employ Drogba, ashley cole and John terry. Suddenly all my sympathy evaporated!
As for the penalties, one you can write off (the shirt pull) as Barca didn't get one in the frist leg for a near identical offence. The Malouda one, the foul started outside the box, but the worst/most blatant part was inside the box, I thought it was probably the most clear cut (but not a stonewaller). As for the two hand ball claims, how many times has John Terry blocked shots with his hands!? The Eto'o one was IMO, not a penalty as it was hit so dam hard and he was so close, he had no chance to react to move his arms. Yes, I've seen them given but if I was the ref I wouldn't have given it.
But, the whole conversation would have been academic if Drogba had taken either of the 3 chances he had, including the penalty claim when let's be honest had Alan Shearer or Robbie Fowler been in that position they would have tucked the ball away and THEN worried about falling over like a big girls blouse!
Unfortunate thing is Barcelona are without three of their first choice defenders for the final. Albeit the way Alves played he won't be a loss at all.
Gotta feel for Abidal though, his WAS a harsh red card. Darren Fletcher's was not.
