Laptop advice

Yeah i was gonna sat Mac too. I saved for ages for mine cos i hate PC's(bad experiences) :x but they are too expensive. Mine is entry level and it was £800

Don't know if you've ever seen The Gadget Show, but their site does recommendations based on what budget you may have, Dunno how useful it is but might be worth a look.

thanks mate, is that a decent one?

I teach ICT every day but know very little about the internal components of them

have to agree with Pete there, alot of dough for what you get BUT never had any probs with a Mac, well worth the money in that respect 8)

Yeah i think they're even more than i payed too. I got a small discount through a friend. Not a cheap thing to buy.

Guess it depends what you need it for too but I know my friend used to be a PC but since getting his Mac Pro never turned back

Some **** hot Dell deals about, i purchase all sorts for our company but dell are most reliable, nice cheap vostros do everyday jobs well, dont get roped in to specification bollocks, a laptop will never outgun a workstation.

Totally depends on what you want to do on it.

If you want to use the internet, email and use Office (Word etc) then just buy yourself a Netbook - they're small and cheap, you can get a decent one for under £300.

But if you want to do any gaming or using more powerful applications like Photoshop or video editing, then you're going to need a laptop with a dedicated graphics card and more memory/faster processor and then even your £400 budget isn't going to get you something good.

Apple's are expensive, but so are PCs if you buy a decent one. There's no way you could build a PC that matches the spec of an iMac for anything close to what they cost.
