**** it's been quiet??

Doing fine mate :D

Had a Korma earlier, watched a movie and now I'm having a few beers.

All in all a fairly chilled weekend so far :D

F*ck me...id have helped you for nowt!!!!

I did think of you, but as I couldn't log on until today I decided to pay

The guy picked my pc up and spent at least three hours on it so I thought £50 wasn't too bad - though it still hurts. My antivirus got corrupted too, and he's given the pc a full spring clean.

I knew what the problem was (I had to replace a corrupted file) but I don't have the knowledge or time to try and fix it. Part of the problem is my pc is an HP so it doesn't have a back-up disk. I could have wiped my pc and used the auto xp-reinstallation but didn't want to lose my unsaved stuff.

If you could post a solution in your pc thread I'd appreciate it, in case it happens again :)

I'm in the process of moving at the minute and don't have the net sorted in new place yet. So you escape having to listen to me talkin crap so often.

Sure mate, i think i mentioned the macrium refect or Acronis software in my thread, if you take an image of your machine as it is now you can then use that image to restore your machine back to that exact state, no viruses, no problems ect.
If you have had a major virus i would do my best to re-install windows, and get a clean start, i have remote support software so i can remotley help you if you (or any of you on here) ever need it. Obviously depending on how busy i am with work. :)

whenever I get viruses I just take my comp in and get wiped as only costs me 20 quid its a pain having to load up other bits again though

I use netscape now though instead of IE and never get viruses now..as use safe porn sites ;) .until I delve deep into the murky world of unsafe ones again
