I did think of you, but as I couldn't log on until today I decided to pay
The guy picked my pc up and spent at least three hours on it so I thought £50 wasn't too bad - though it still hurts. My antivirus got corrupted too, and he's given the pc a full spring clean.
I knew what the problem was (I had to replace a corrupted file) but I don't have the knowledge or time to try and fix it. Part of the problem is my pc is an HP so it doesn't have a back-up disk. I could have wiped my pc and used the auto xp-reinstallation but didn't want to lose my unsaved stuff.
If you could post a solution in your pc thread I'd appreciate it, in case it happens again![]()
