Internet poker?

Any one play it?

I play quite a bit, its how I aim to fund my collection! Anyhow I play on Paradise Poker but since the USA made online gambling illegal all the Yanks have been banned and my days of making good money off 15 year old drunk americans each month are gone so I want to switch sites to one which still allows them american players, any sugestions?

Seriously, anyone mathematically minded with a level head, spend an afternoon learning texas hold 'em and play a bit of free play (fake money) on line give it a go, read a book too (power poker), its easy money! I paid for about 18 dollars of chips and made around Ã'£1000 in 2 months playing $5 then $10 and $20 mini tourneys - not so easy now as theres less players but I've built my $20 initial up to $250 in about 5 weeks playing a few games a week, keeps me ticking over....Another $250 and I'll have earned a 12 back luke :wink:

Play sometimes for free but nothing serious like you 2stripes, sheesh fair play tho!

I'd be too scared to loose my money all the time.

Play a bit, never played on-line though, just wouldn't fancy running up an even bigger Credit card bill.

Good laugh though, if you get a group of guys together and no1 is taking it too seriously.

Is it just the sit and go tourney's that you play or the cash games?

I play a few cash tables but not very often, I just play mini tourneys so theres no risk really. Plus I have a poker night with a few mates once or twice a month.

People assume that you can get yourself in a hole and blow a grand on a hand but its not like that. Basically I put 18 dollars in my account and played the 5 dollar table (paying a dollar to the site so $6 a game effectively). Each player puts 5 dollars into the pot thats 50 dollars as its 10 players a table. Then you get 1000 chips each and the blinds go up every 10 hands to ensure the game takes about an hour or so (by that time the blinds are 500 and a 1000 each hand so if you have only got a 1000 chips your going to have to put them in soon or have the big blind put them in for you!).

If you finish 1st you get $25 2nd $15 and 3rd $10. If you finish 4th or lower, you've just lost your $6 stake

So I played about 50 games of this $5 format and kept stats and I finished in the money (1st 2nd or 3rd) in 66% of them. So you win one and your balance goes up to say 30 dollars you lose one, down to 25, then you win and up to 50 dollars and so on, I'm just playing with my winnings. Then I started playing the 20 dollar tourney once my balance got to $200. Same format but $100 for first then $60 and $40 and made about $900 or Ã'£500 a month (dollar was stronger then) still getting about a 60% win ratio over 50 games or so. I worked out I was earning about Ã'£13 an hour tax free which is a lot more than I earn at work! (just without the security!)

To be honest I then got a bit sick of playing every night as it became like a 2nd job. I couldn't even look at a poker table for a while but I've just started playing again and its building up but I can't stomach playing that much any more I'm too lazy/busy and with the Yanks gone, theres not enough people to get regular $20 games so I've been playing $10 ones. last 4 I've won 2 and 2nd once so the account is creeping up bit by bit .

I also play the big buck tourneys for a laugh, a $ to enter and you get about 200 people (used to be about a 1000) 1st gets about $50, takes a long time though but only costs a $ or 50p. I've finished on the final table in the last three (3rd 5th and 7th I think) so eventually I may start playing the bigger multi table tourney's see how I get on..

Anyway I'm not advocating you all take up gambling online, just there seems plenty of bright people on here and well I found it worthwhile and its a hobby that makes me money rather than drains it like colelcting Star Wars!
