My two pennarth
To remove a figure from any original card, is plain stupid.
Original Mocs
in a rough state, tears, sticker scarring, dings, splits or slices, ....they are STILL original, and to me are a way of stating out collecting mocs on a budget....there is a market for these are there are many collectors, like myself, that are happy to have them.
Therefore the more" accepting" of these rough cards, by collectors the better.
Any rough Mocs that collectors have should be traded/sold on forums ( like this) to genuine collectors. I know this wont solve the problem, but would help.
Reseals
Done well. ( or badly for that matter, as you can attempt to improve the reseal)
As long as the piece is sold as a reseal and no one is passing of at full MOC price. Again there is a market for these.
Original on repro card....WRONG
There is no reason not to pull this off the card as Barry says its a repro card, the damage has already been done.
I think, like many other things, awareness is the key, and the more collectors, new to the hobby, are educated in regard to the whole issue, the better it will become.
There will always be demand for minty figs, therefore there will always sadly be tossers, who don't give a monkeys about the hobby, that will look to make a quick buck
Having said all of this, the point in question here, is so called "collectors" discussing the rights and wrongs of the hobby.....come on a blind dimwit, that has a passing interest in the hobby, knows that pulling a figure from an original card, is doing wrong.
Sadly, this won't go away
