I should have known better

Out of interest, what's to stop someone being sent an item, claiming it's fake when it's not and then getting a refund?

I hope ebay have something in place to prevent this or this could be a problem for a legit seller. Also I thought the card backs sent this time were original and not reproduction (maybe just one bubble). It is just the weapons were talking about here and the misleading listing and not a complete repro. Would love to see some pictures of them.

Ian

It's likely you would be asked for proof. I've never actually been through this exact scenario so i'm not totally sure.

To be honest Ian I was thinking the same.

As I mentioned they are reseals with repro weapons with possibly one repro bubble (not sure) and repro footers. The figures are fine (apart from paint loss which wasn't mentioned in listing)

The best one - a POTF card is actually pretty good (apart from repro weapon) and would be happy to keep this one with perhaps a part refund from the seller but there has been no contact.

My main concern was the best way to return them. I imagine I wil be instructed to do so with ebay supplying pre paid tracking

I'm an honest buyer and was looking forward to these.

It's a shame you can't keep hold of the one that's in good shape but it's the sellers loss if they can't be bothered to respond to you.

I can tell from what you've written that you're disappointed by the whole thing and are trying to be as fair as you can and it's good to know that there are people like you out there, especially with the way a lot of people seem to be doing business on ebay. As long as you send the items back with tracking all should be fine. You shouldn't be out of pocket on returning this lot and you've done the right thing going through ebay with this as they'll have a complete record of all that's gone on and even if something was to happen with the parcel you'll get your money back.

My comments on this thread were certainly not aimed at you trying to do anything wrong in all of this, it's more that I wanted to have a better understanding of the situation incase it's something that ever happens to me (or anyone else who reads this). There's some real knowledge to be gained from the members on here and it all helps towards us protecting ourselves from the bad apples out there.

Hope it all goes smoothly - Ian

Hi Ian

Not at all mate. Like I said I was thinking similar about providing proof??

Well it's down to ebay now and will post the outcome.

You got a link to the auctions/seller's ID because if you are sending these back then he'll most likely relist them and someone else will get duped.

Update

Phoned ebay again as seller requested items to be returned.

Told adviser that it was illegal to post counterfeit goods in the UK.

Was told that as it isnt a "Rolex" it was not a problem and should be returned for a refund unless evidence is provided and a
3rd party destroy them.

I was also informed that the 5 carded figures should be returned each with their own tracking no as the seller could say only one was posted back (which is something I was concerned about as each has it's own case opened)

So it's going to cost me £20 or so to return them :?

Think I will wait and escalate case - ebay may provide postage :?

ask steve at ukg to provide a written statement with a letterhead that these are counterfeit fakes and breach kenner copyright agreement.

That's an idea mate

- he mentioned someone who represented the company provide evidence and then remove them to be destroyed
