You wake up tomorrow to the news that Hasbro are going to release original episode 7 figures on vintage backs, logo'd with the new movies title. The figures will be basic molds in the vintage style with only 5 points of articulatation.

However further to this they will release all the orginal vintage figures on episode 7 cards and the back of the card shows all of previous vintage figures- effectively continuing the line.

Would you be anyway in on this?

I ask because I get the feeling that Disney is keen to harken back to the orginal trilogy days and I wouldn't be at all surprised if we saw this, or at least parts of it.

I believe the modern vintage collection went on hold last year for this reason.

if its not 1977-1988 vintage figures....im not interested.......

i dont think the original sculpts/look would appeal too modern kids anyway

Sorta like when they did the recasts classic four pack back in 1995. It was neat, I bought the set, but at the end of the day they were still new figures.

Yeah and their weapons were really rubbery.

Kids aren't going to want that these days. Our eight year old likes the vintage playsets but never plays with vintage figures. He likes the modern more flexible ones. I wouldn't collect new figures. Don't see the point.

Disney will cash in and milk it for all they can so you may not be far off. Me personally I would only be interested in any LJ figures otherwise I wouldn't buy into it.

Dont think it would appeal to the current or next generation although my boy loves his vintage figures and only plays with those, the modern don't get a look in (except Jango when he goes on father and son bounty missions)

I think it'd be a great idea, with ReAction doing kenner style figures of classic movie lines, its something I thing would be very feasible. Though I would want something that would display perfectly with my ooold vintage figures, and I think nowadays they would look too detailed and not vintage enough.
