Friday 4th Sept

Fingers crossed the FX sabers are the previously released signature editions with removable blades - pretty sure they are so that's great news

Talking modern on vintage thread - I feel all naughty and bad ass

Not loving the armor up and build a whatever the hell that is bit of tat, but the six inch line looks good and that six inch tie, must be bloomin huge! with a pricetag to match i'll bet, have to see what they look like in person

Had a search and the 6" TIE is retailing about US$169.

Quick conversion......check out the current exchange rate etc.....carry the one...*tap*tap* on the calculator.....yep, that converts to about £169 over here. At least that's how Forbidden Planet usually do it! :D

The power up power rangers hoods look appalling, the new fangled lawnmower **** is embarrassing. But as someone pointed out, these are toys for the kid market who like play value. Those extras reminded me a bit of mini rigs when I was a kid.. they looked okay but just weren't star warsy enough - always been a bit off towards them (aside from the cannon, skiff and maintenance ones) and came about during that 'no more films planned, now they appear to be milking us with Imperial Dignatry and another ****ing ewok' period. Some execs have done their homework, ignored us old farts and gone to maximise revenue.

However, I shall need a modern focus so will continue with the amidala - organa - skywalker female lineage and collect 'possibly' Rey (hoping she doesnt turn out to be daughter of jar jar or something). I like the 6inch version with BB8 (he appears to be weighted at the bottom to stand up.. like a weeble), the speeder bike thing looks great and the overall packaging idea for the 3&3/4. Having seen the whole of this wave 1, I really like the card art, the hues of colour, the card shape and the figure sculpts for 5POA look surprisingly good.

Pretty disappointed with the quality in general. I have second thoughts on starting the collection for these new movies. I will get selected ones instead.
Specially disappointed with the quality of BB-8s, not even properly painted!

I guess that means more money to spend on vintage. Still will drop at Disney Store and Forbidden Planet for Force Friday

Disgraceful! Really makes me cross. Will look into importing the figures for my boys. They've saved all their birthday money and have been waiting patiently (and very excitedly!) for Force Friday, yet Hasbro UK will make them pay twice what US children will :( £10 a pop for a basic loose figure!

It is a disgrace although I can't say i'm surprised. When EP1 came out figure prices jumped from£3-5 each up to £7.99, the reason given was that CommTalk/Tech crap. Now whats the excuse?

I see the same thing happening as what happened in '99 - 6 months down the line they'll be bargain bins full of the peg warmers. Means if your wanting the subsequent releases you want get them cos the shops will have the same old figs sitting on shelves and you'll have to stump up for the scalpers on Ebay. 16 years later they're still at bargain bin prices.

My local Tesco had the Black Series for 4 quid each this week to make way for this new stuff. If they were 4 quid all the time they might sell more!!

I thought the 4th September would be a day long remembered on these forums, however it seems like these aren't the droids you're looking for?

I'm off to the US on business in November (assuming it doesn't get cancelled again) so will hopefully be able to pick a full contingent up then for a good price, but we will see.

Not going to be able to make it.

I can get to London, but the single ticket on the train from London to Newport at 5am is £104.00

Or wait till 8am and catch the bus.

To be honest, there is not one of the products I care for. Perhaps a loose First Order Stormtrooper and Kylo Ren, but I find the range really disspointing.

Have fun guys- I'm off for spiced rum and a beach instead.

I don't get Fett being on a TFA card.....unless he's gonna be in the movie (not sure that makes real sense until they make a spin-off telling us what happened after the Sarlacc Pit, especially if the books aren't canon).

Well Force Friday arrived a day early up with us. Asda have them out, bought handful of cards (and grabbed the outer boxes)

Couple of things to worry about if you are a parent buying these for your kids -

Single figure is £9.99 and the armour version in £10.97 - bit too expensive for this style of figure
The single figures come in a box of 12 but the box we opened did not have the "must have" Kylo or Phasma figures. There will eventually be lots of them on the shelves I'm sure but bit worrying if Hasbro are not packing them with first wave.

damn shame they didn't go for the classic vintage look......tempted to pick up a stormie and the Fett one....that's about it from what i've seen so far

also...for those of us in London....the Disney Store in Oxford Street have a midnight opening tonight

Phasma is definitely being packed, saw one in Asda Living, Coventry yesterday, also the 12" Kylo Ren but no 3.75 version. also saw the Kylo Ren lightsaber which I then had to pry from my son and he's only 19 months old!

I really have no interest in the figure line for TFA, unless my son gets into it at school i wont be buying anything.

Just bought the Elite Series Trooper....quality is really nice....might buy a few more of this line (Phasma/Ren), the First Order stuff just looks so much better than the Rebel stuff (Except the Black X-Wing...I need that!)
