Don't get sucked in!! I won't be going anywhere near it. I'm looking forward to the film but got no interest in the merch. It's all about the vintage 8)

This exactly. Must resist.
Can't wait for the film, but I've learnt my lesson from Episode I.

Spent a bloody fortune on Ep I/POTF2 rubbish and spent the next 15 years trying to get rid of of the f*cking stuff.

What.. you can't get a tenner for your Jar Jar with a fish ? :D

Strangely, I had no trouble getting rid of that one!

It's the 'Jar Jar with Calais Migrant' that's proving somewhat more difficult to get rid of.

Oooo controversial.....

Ditto. I ploughed waaaay too much money into TPM/POTF2 figures when I should've been buying vintage instead. I won't be doing the same again.

I collect both vintage and modern so i'll be picking a few items up, looking forward to seeing another luke on a cardback and the rest of the old gang to

I agree with a lot of the posts here, you can buy mint ep1 for buttons now, my local TRU have a huge sign inside the door claiming midnight madness or some shite, unless there's a special coin or figure/ playset, then the market will be swamped with pieces that will still be on the shelves in 6 months time.
I might buy Luke/Leia/Han/chewy but, that'll be sentimental because, I'm still really 7 yr old when I stand in front of shelves of Star Wars.

U know...I am tempted to go and observe the 'midnight madness' at my local TRU and have a look at the new stuff :!: I loved the Ep 1 hype 8)

As for buying any-no chance :D

As im not interested in the new films it wont really bother me. As soon as Disney took over, Star Wars is a money machine. I dont think ive ever seen so many things released since they stepped in. I will say that some of the items they are putting out are higher in quality than some previous garbage, and do carry very good accuracy and display but some things have no play value.

So ill be one who sits out anymore new movie tie in toys from the new films. Im more content in pursuing my TPM collection ;) By the way, ive heard rumours of a Han Solo variant from TFA-you get the figure with pipe and slippers, with the variant being Jim Beam or Jack Daniels :)

First wave of toys are out in New Boston, Ohio....
Have to say, they don't look like quality...Captain Phasma reminds me of a less beefed up POTF2 Dark Trooper....
Oh, and they come with extra armor? Hope we don't see those in the movie....

Agreed.

Not doing anything for me.

I quite like the character art on the side, but the rest is awful.

Especially the massive sticker highlighting the shitty 'build a lawnmower' bits.

Can't see myself buying any of this.

Gutted- the sequel to ROTJ and this is the best they could do. :?

Perhaps they are different in hand..... :(

I posted very similar thoughts on FB this morning, the card backs don't work for me at all, too busy and quite frankly a mess. I do really like the character illustrations, but the rest of it.. blurgh!

Worst of all is how weak the Star Wars logo looks in white out of red, its like a WHSmith sale sign...

Figures don't look terrible for kids (rather than collectors) to actually play with, but agree again with Grant that the build your own lawnmower is a randomly shite idea that somewhat overshadows the whole package.

I would add though that I'm glad they didn't just do a vintage style rehash, I don't like this packaging, but that would have been unimaginative and purely pandering to a collector market (who know the value really isn't there after the prequels) rather than toy buying kids.

Anyway, the film is going to be amazing and this really doesn't matter........... God I hope I'm right....

I have booked the day off and I am looking for date/friend to share experience.

HAHAHA :D

They look fecking horrendous!!! You just know Kylo is gonna be the new Maul from 99' :D And that he will have a rare pink vest variation :D Everyone knows they are a limited edition of around 10 million and will surely go up in price.

Thank god Sonny has gone Marvel mad within the last few months, as its gonna be easier for me when these hit the shops :D

And why in gods name are they releasing figures from the previous movies on this card ? Money making at its best with plenty of people willing to stomp someones head to get the last one on the shelf...

Do you use Lawnmowers in the Valley's boyo???

Hasbros TFA catalogue is up: https://imgur.com/a/lbYLw#17

3 3/4 inch figures look shite, the only thing I got excited about was the 6inch line, they're going to release a TIE fighter with TIE pilot, looks awesome!

Yeah, they're all a bit underwhelming. :?
Bit cheeky mixing in classic characters with EP7 ones - even when EP1 came out they rolled back POTF2 as a smaller, seperate line.
New X-Wing looks pretty cool - Christ knows how much that will be.

I like most of them.Only things I wasn't keen on were the Armour-up line and Falcon. I showed my boys and they loved the idea of them both. A lot of play value. Target audience happy.

Would've preferred more retro style packaging, but overall think it's pretty good. Love the character pics on the front.

Black Series look good as usual. Doubt if I'll buy anything, but I have the advantage that my boys will get a lot of it ;)
